Pagan police officers get their holidays off. Christian 'news' reporters freak out.
That's what these two articles should read. Instead of reporting that small and oppressed religions are being allowed to have their sacred days off, these reporters are sensationalizing the story, making up what they believe these brave police officers are doing on those holidays.
One reporter can't shake off the images of naked men dancing while drinking mead, shaking their wands around. Oh, the idea of celebrating lactating sheep while having promiscuous sex, just like in the good 'ol Celtic times!
<snip>
One officer, who did not wish to be named, said: “When they talk about political correctness gone mad, this is exactly what they are talking about.
<un-snip>
I'm sorry mister police officer but allowing another to observe their religion is NOT political correctness. It is mutual respect.
<snip>
“I mean, what has it come to when a cop gets time off so he can sit about making spells or dance around the place drinking honey beer with a wand in his hand?”
<un-snip>
To this brilliant statement I could only think of calling him a name to which I won't lower myself to his level, a hole that is always dark and stinky.
