Police believe that horse mane weaving incidents 'are caused by Pagans'
Pagan worshippers are suspected of weaving horses’ manes to cast spells on the animals after police investigated a series of bizarre incidents.

The practice, believed to have spread via the internet, has seen almost 20 animals targeted over the past three months.

Residents have since started a horse watch scheme after incidents were reported in fields in Hemyock, Culmstock and Clayhidon, Devon, Exeter as well as parts of Dorset and Somerset.

1. I think this is just some youngsters......
When I was a child..a bunch of us kids used to sneak into the graveyards...and when we would find a grave with lots and lots of flowers...we would spread the flowers out and give one to each grave...and especially to the graves that we saw that no one came to.
We did that for a few years....and no one every caught on that it was little kids doing it. (we were very young kids too)
When we found out the grownups didnt like it...we just managed to do it more often :)
Eventually we outgrew running around in the graveyard as something exciting to do.
It was wrong of us to do so..but in our hearts at the time..we thought we were being kind to the souls forgotten..and that those that had so many flowers surely wouldnt mind sharing sometimes. :)
We were for the most part...all the neighborhood little girls. Only a few baby brothers were allowed to tag along....mostly because we were supposed to be taking care of them. :P
I suspect some young girls are braiding the horses manes. :)

2. I see nothing wrong in what you did
As children some would say that you had the innocence of the soul inside of you.
Even looking at it in an adult view what is wrong with sharing flowers with ones that do not have any??
