Inaugural Post of the Democratic Underground Al Gore '08 Forum

Welcome to the Al Gore '08 Forum.

I hope that over the next three years that you feel free to not only discuss current events of Al & Tipper Gore and Family as Al Gore Democrats but are open to the idea of an Al Gore candidacy in 2008.

In my opinion, never has there existed a politician that has been able to say with such validity to so many people, "I told you so."

From the environment, to technology, to the economy, family and war, this Honourable Gentleman from Tennessee is supremely qualified for the job.

Now with a new investment fund (Generation) and TV Network (indTV), the open primary in 2008 would not be a referendum about the past for Al Gore, but on the future.

With daily news about ecological deterioration including the possible extinction of the polar bear, the faster rising of sea levels and Russia's recent ratification of the Kyoto Treaty that Al Gore negotiated, the increasing human and financial toll on America on the mishandled War on Terror that Al Gore warned about - before the vote; to the millions of families forced to stretch lives further and further under lower and lower paying jobs that Al Gore helped raise in the 90's, we need someone not only able to inspire enthusiasm and passion for their candidacy but also will return that passion and enthusiasm working for the American People.

Al Gore is the person with that passion.

Seriously. Have you watched Love Story? SNL? The 2000 Democratic National Convention? ;)

There are also forums, videos and a current events list-serve and discussion list-serve at the site above.

Background: Al Gore '08 was formerly known as Al Gore Democrats (AlGoreDemocrats.com), which in turn was formerly known as AlGore04.com before Al Gore decided not to run in December 2002. AlGore04.com was a merger between two sites AlGore-04.com and Al-Gore-04.org

1. I guess this makes the inaugural reply
Thanks for the information.

I was a delegate to the DNC and Gore electrified the room in his opening speech. He is a visionary in so many ways. From Arapnet to Internet, the environment, he tackled the myth of the liberal media bias head on and spoke out against the war in Iraq before anyone else.

2. thanks!
I'm glad this forum is open.

This years convention was a little tough to watch, because it should have been Al's renomination convention. To me, he's still the leader of the Democratic party.

I hope Tipper writes a book. She's so much more interesting than Hillary, and I think her story as a political wife and a person in her own right would be fascinating.

4. Al Gore should have run in 2004
His relentless attacks on Bush's reckless march to war were right on target, and ignored by the MSM as they did our antiwar demonstrations.

Gore is a better candidate when he doesn't have idiots like Donna Brazille around.

5. I for one hope he does run
Talk about divine retribution

I have always liked Al, and he is definitely still young enough to run in 08.

Better him than Hillary, and I like her a lot too.

If HIllary gets the nomination, we are toast folks. The other side will trash her to death.

Unfortunate, but true.

7. I love the big guy
He has long been my favorite democrat...after family of course. I think he and Tipper are incredibly decent people as are Howard and Judy Dean.

Now there would be a ticket Gore/Dean!

8. I would totally support a Gore/Dean ticket in '08
Heck, last summer I was hoping there would be a brokered convention and Gore would come out the nominee.

Yes, Gore/Dean would be a helluva great ticket!
