Sen. Obama & Al Gore Step Up Conversation: But About What?
"“The last time I talked to Al Gore was last week,” was Senator Barack Obama's response earlier today, while speaking to reporters during his flight from Chicago to Washington D.C. The surprising tid-bit of information came near the very end of a question-and-answer session. When a follows up was asked, whether or not he would divulge what they talked about, Senator Obama smiled and simply said, “No.” And how about John Edwards, one reporter shouted from the back of the pack, Obama answered saying he had spoken to him “within the last two weeks.” And when asked if he was expecting anything from Mr. Edwards, Barack once again smiled, and smoothly replied, “Some good advice.”

Enough of that, lets get back to the phone calls taking place between Senator Barack Obama and the recent Nobel Peace Prize recipient, Al Gore. What do these conversations mean, is there something big brewing, is Obama receiving advice, or is it just a routine course of business between the two statesman? Well if I was forced to bet, it would have to be towards the talk of bigger things, and I say that for one main reason. That reason is Senator Barack Obama is in the middle of an absolute dog fight, I mean this really is a toe-to-toe battle. It is so intense that I do not think that he would be taking the time to have reoccurring "friendly" chats with Al Gore, likewise I do not think Al Gore would bother Obama if all he wanted to do was talk about the weather, or what good movies they had seen lately. My point is that both men understand the dire situation the Democrats currently find themselves, and both men are focusing 100% of their energy on dealing with it. That said, the only reason I can see them routinely chatting is for, or about, something or some plan that is at a minimum, relevant to the race.

But who knows, with reporters still probing Obama regarding the Gore conversations the plane safely landed at Washington's Dullus Airport, and the Senator, cool as a cucumber, walked to the front of his plane where he made his exit and headed off too join Mrs. Clinton and Senator John McCain who were all spending the day at the Capitol, where the Senate is holding a series of budget votes that required their presence."

1. VERY interesting.
Good for Gore for being available for advice. Sure wish we knew what they talk about. I am sure climate change is part of the equation and hopefully Obama will let go his appreciation for liquid coal plants.

We don't know if Gore is also speaking with HRC however. Wouldn't surprise me if he was. I am sure he recognizes, as does Dean and Pelosi what a mess the Party is in currently.

4. If I were Sen.Obama I would talk with Al Gore to gain insight into the
Clintons. Who would know better than Gore about what goes on in & behind closed door campaign planning sessions?
