SEOUL — A 2nd Infantry Division soldier was found dead Monday morning in his barracks at Camp Casey, prompting the commanding general of U.S. Forces Korea to remind troops to watch for signs of depression, loneliness and stress during the holiday season.

The soldier, Pfc. Christopher Adan, 20, was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 72nd Armor Regiment, 1st Heavy Brigade Combat Team, according to a 2nd ID news release issued Wednesday. He had been in South Korea since August.

Military officials have not named a cause of death and say the investigation continues.

Adan was found in his barracks Monday and pronounced dead at 11:40 a.m.

On Tuesday, Gen. B.B. Bell put out a written message to the troops in South Korea about Adan’s death.
