Dirty old man syndrome or early onset male dementia or early alzheimers.

There are many old wives tales about mothers warning their daughters about the Dirty Old Men and the academic studies of early onset dementia in elderly males. One of the characteristics is the prevalence of these old men to inappropriately interact with females especially young ones.

I wonder if there is a predisposition of military veterans who may have suffered some Traumatic Brain Injury to act in this way.

I was reading this article which highlights the large percentage of Veterans incarcerated for sexual crimes.

Washington - Military veterans in prison are more than twice as likely to have been convicted for sex offenses as nonveteran inmates, federal researchers say. They cannot say why.

A study released Sunday by the Bureau of Justice Statistics compared the populations of inmates who served in the military and those who did not.

Veterans are half as likely to be incarcerated as those without service experience in the first place, researchers found, but 23 percent of the veterans in prison were sex offenders, compared with 9 percent of nonveteran inmates.
"We couldn't come to any definite conclusion as to why," said Margaret Noonan, a study author.
The numbers mirror a trend seen in military prisons, where populations have declined but sexual assault remains the most common crime.

I wonder if Mental Instability is like Insanity. It seems to be closely related.

(and I say that with more sarcasm than I can convey here), they could start by looking at military culture.

Do women in the military get raped by their fellow soldiers more than civilian women?
Is there a prevailing culture of male supremacy in the military?
Does the military promote the attitude that soldiers deserve access to women's bodies, either as "comfort women" or as porn?
Has the rape of women always been a part of warfare and conquest?
Does the military promote oppression of those who are weaker?

Gosh, just can't figure out why vets might have a higher rate of sex crimes than nonvets.

I wonder why the main stream media has not given any coverage about camp followers. The Roman Legions had them, the Japanese had korean (I forgot their name).
