3. Did my part
Navy 1974-1980 six years active. Paris peace accords signed
while in ET school.

Dad Navy 1950-1954.

Father in law. Navy 1940-1946. Onboard USS Arizona cleaning
gun turret when Pearl Harbor attacked. Had a second ship sunk
out from under him, volunteered to stay in fleet, even though
eligible for shore duty.

Sadly I can't let my son enlist while these gerbils that are
stinking up our country now.

Would have signed sooner but membership delayed, and had bad
case of virtigo all week, damned allergies, stupid clean blue
skies.

Not hard to figure out Paine, you been around the circuit and know the score (LOL)

Where ya' been Paine? Your posts (most) always interested me and was glad to back most up friend!

U.S. Army 1967-1970 101st Airborne Div. - Americal Div. RVN "Don't Mean Nothin' - There It Is" - "DDAP" ---

Ask a few in here paine to post their trinkets (medals) sure they will oblige ya', hell they did it in other forums. Ask why those that run forums --supposidly liberal, tossed out all the "SHRUB" hating Nam Vets? I am sure this SOB knows who he is! LOL And it did happen Paine - trust me there.

13. Well, this is a small vet's forum at DU, not often checked--we did one
last year, for Veteran's Day or Memorial Day, that went on forever.

Career military, myself, third generation.

26. US Navy, 1969-1972
Took my oath twenty minutes after Richard Nixon took his. Got out a month and a half early for Christmas and to save the Navy some $$$$$.

Most memorable experience:

Painting over the side by the fantail while underway at about 5 kts. Line holding the stage parted. My lifeline was tied around my PFD, not my chest, so the PFD ripped and I plunged into the Tonkin Gulf. Took the ship six minutes to get the motor whaleboat over the side and pick me up.
