2. I ran the MARS station in CuChi after I got back from Cambodia.
Unfortunately, that was in 1970.

4. We do it every year
Hubby was a submariner, retired Chief, USN.

Me, served somewhere else...

And as he liked to say... being a Navy wife is the toughest job in the navy. I politely disagree!

7. One brother was a diesel engine mechanic in the 3rd AD and really hated it...COLD!!!
He put in for transfer, even though he was told he could wind up in Vietnam...He found himself working in a small motorpool right outside of Venice, Italy till he ETS'd...terrible hardship, huh?

8. Speaking of the Black Boots, I have a very old pair of Cocorans that I just
got repaired - again - and they are probably good till long after I'm dead and gone. Wear them a lot in winter. Still have a p-38 on my keyring, too...you never know when you might need one!

My keychain has a P38 too. Once taken from me as I entered a courthouse. I guess they thought it was a weapon. I knew guys that transfered from the Rock to Vietnam, said that 1st brigade 3rd AD too violent. Race riots every night the first year I was there. The 'Hawk' lived on the Rock, shithole of FRG, but now I miss it a bit.
