Attorney: Hood suspect has more restrictions
Attorney: Hood suspect has more restrictions

FORT WORTH, Texas — The Fort Hood mass shooting suspect's attorney says his client is being treated more harshly than other soldiers suspected of a crime.

Attorney John Galligan says Maj. Nidal Hasan has excessive restrictions — including a rule barring any visitors when his attorneys are in his hospital room.

Galligan says he can't work on Hasan's case because he needs to meet with Hasan and one of his relatives at the same time.

Hasan is undergoing rehabilitation at a San Antonio military hospital, recovering from wounds that left him paralyzed.

Hasan has been charged with 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted premeditated murder in the Nov. 5 shooting at the central Texas Army post. He was shot and wounded by Fort Hood police officers, authorities have said.

1. He is a mass murderer
He should be treated like an animal. This guy should be stripped of his citizenship and sent to a prison in Israel, his homeland.

2. Don't Agree
He should be tried as would any other citizen, sentenced and then executed. He should face a firing squad and the bullets should be dipped in pigs blood.

3. I like your thinking.
This guy further demoralized our troops who are being shipped to foreign lands. He should be treated accordingly.

5. His "homeland" is the USA.

Major Nidal Hasan:

"-- Born in Arlington County. Raised primarily in southwestern Virginia, where he graduated from William Fleming High School in Roanoke. Also attended Arlington's Wakefield High School for a year."

He should be treated like any other American citizen accused of a crime.

4. "Attorney only" meetings are not an unusual requirement
Seems like a reasonable security precaution -- and the presence of a third person, in any event, would usually waive the attorney-client privilege and permit others to monitor the conversation.

Sounds like the attorney is attempting to play a sympathy card and not a very good card at that.
