Because in the Bush Administration, one never takes responsibility for any mistake, a top Army official attacked the Washington Post for writing the Walter Reed articles:

The Army's surgeon general yesterday criticized stories in The Washington Post disclosing problems at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, saying the series unfairly characterized the living conditions and care for soldiers recuperating from wounds at the hospital's facilities.

"I'm not sure it was an accurate representation," Lt. Gen. Kevin C. Kiley, chief of the Army Medical Command, told reporters during a news conference. "It was a one-sided representation."

One-sided? It was the side of wounded troops.

Took them a week to come up with this "blame the messenger" strategy. These are the people running the war in Iraq.

2. The only way the good General would see anything
Is if he pulled his head out of his ass first! I'm willing to bet that this boot licking ass sucker knew exactly what was going on and chose to ignore it, instead of doing anything about it.

As for the OIC, there's another waste of air and space, along with his staff.

10. Today they said Bush didn't know how bad the conditions at Walter Reed were.
I don't know how Bush couldn't have known about the poor conditions, though.

He made several photo-ops when he stopped by that hospital these last 2 or 3 years.

11. He doesn't know if it's broadway or friday
They have their own reality, and inconvenient facts just don't enter it.

He could have gone to building 18, had the problems pointed out to him, and his head would have bobbed and he'd have said "turribull" and by the time he walked out would have totally forgotten it.

I am starting to believe some of their claims like Condi Rice saying she does not recall having been told about the Iranian overture a few years ago. They don't listen to what they don't want to hear. She probably WAS told, immediately dismissed it as not fitting the agenda, and now really does NOT recall it. The issue is less that they lie (which they do) but that they truly do not take in facts. This is ideology at its worst. This makes them even scarier, because there is nothing, no facts, no arguments, that will dissuade them from their messianic zeal. Anything that contradicts their alternate reality is immediately labeled as being terrorist-inspired. The best analogy is religious zealots blaming anything that challenges their beliefs as "the work of satan". You just don't try to have a phiosophical discussion about, say, evolution with one of them, do you?

This entire administration is like one big insane asylum.

12. Because he was shown the primary care surgical wards, hand picked
soldiers who wouldn't lip off and the commander's private suite. You never been on VIP 'inspection' tours? Pure Fantasy Island show, Major; enough bull shit to grow all the mushrooms you'll ever need.

13. "I will form a commission to study this situation." - George "AWOL" Bush
"So that I can ignore any recommendations they will make . . . just like I ignored all the recommendations made by all the other commissions I didn't listen to.
Heh heh.
I'm the decider.
I like forming commissions.
It's hard work.
Then I just ignore them.
That's hard work, too.
Heh heh.
Wish I could form a commission to form commissions.
But, that would make my job harder."
