2007 Veterans Budget there will be none
We will stay on the C.R. that the Republicans left us with. Democrats from the House and Senate will add 3 billion to this C.R.. But bottom line no Budget and it looks like will still will be 2 billion short after the 3 billion is added. Bottom line again waiting list,no new equipment and no new staff. Can you say Replugs put us in a huge jam. We Support the Troops and Veterans bull crap.

1. "WE" (as in Wee Cowboy) support the WAR, not the troops. There's a difference
As Jesse Jackson points out: Rep. John Murtha, the salty Marine who chairs the House Armed Services Appropriations Committee, has been calling for redeploying the troops, and for letting the Iraqis settle their own internal civil war. This week, Murtha put out a document to remind people of the real domestic costs of staying in a war that costs nearly $9 billion a month, or $120 billion a year – not counting the interest costs, the costs of Veteran’s health care and pensions, etc.

The president cuts Medicare and Medicaid in his FY 2007 budget. 5 billion dollars will be cut over five years from Medicaid – money that the US will spend in 2 ½ weeks in Iraq. $36 billion is slated for cuts in Medicare – or about what the president will spend in a little more than 4 1/2 months in Iraq.

The cost of six hours in Iraq would pay for the cuts in the National Institutes of Health research budget, cuts that are occurring even as scientists are starting to leave the field because of shortages of funding.

For the cost of every 1½ month in Iraq – about $15 billion – we could provide health insurance for one year for 9 million children who now go without. Children who go without adequate health care when they are young find it more difficult to learn, and are more likely to develop chronic illnesses. We are not only stealing from their promise, we are adding to our own future health care bills. ...

5. I put in a claim to the VA for compensation.
I got out in 2001 but wasen't informed by anyone I was owed disability for PTSD. I thought you only got disability for losing a limb or something of that nature in combat. So, I put in a claim and it's been 7 years. All I sent in was my DD214 showing I was in Kosovo in 2000 with a letter explaining how PTSD has changed my life in many ways.

It's been over 2 months now since I sent in the claim, I think. If I had known I would have put in a Claim in 2001 and probably would have my due benefits by now. With the Iraq occupation and all the shake up in the VA I'm not sure if I'm going to hear anything soon about my claim. All I've got is one letter a month stating my claim is in the review process. When I do hear a response I sure hope they don't force me to spend the next 6 months at the VA getting test and seeing psychologist.

For some odd reason at the time of my honorable discharge I think someone purposely misplaced my medical records. Oddly my medical records mysteriously were lost when I was at the military hospital while out-processing. I think someone stabbed me in the back knowing I was owed benefits for my disability. I diden't even know that I was owed dental and medical for 2 years after I was discharged. I paid for my own dental and medical after I left. Hopefully it will all work out. With Bush and Rumsfeld's vision for the military I hope I don't get denied what they owe me according to their own policy.

They have been doing that for years. Find a DAV VSO let him handle it for you. Or here write a email to Rick- vva@vva.org

7. They've been doing that for years?
Why has that been happening? Is it to cheat people out of their disability compensataion? I don't know how my medical records mysteriously disappeared within the time I got my physical to the time I was leaving the hospital, I think it was about 1 hour.

8. I wonder about Bush's plan to eliminate the deficit?
Bush says he wants to eliminate the deficit by 2012. I wonder if he's taking into consideration all the veterans who are returning with disabilities and are owed compensation?

13. The Paris Hilton tax cuts
are borne by disabled veterans, but Bushigula wouldn't know too much about disabled veterans.
Keep knocking on their door for your benefits. Eventually it will open. They depend on a certain number of vets to get disgusted and give up.
Don't give up. Never give up. Never ever give up.
The Administration has also created a commission to study the possibility of off setting veterans benefits with Social Security, two unrelated issues. When lawyers do this it's called commingling funds followed by disbarment.

11. At the rally on Saturday Susan Sarandon said Bush was cutting funding by 65 billion
dollars within the next 5 years.

I haven't seen the figures yet, but if that is what that AWOL POS intends to propose, then I think we need to yank some Congressmen out of their jobs.

I can't believe that Bush keeps asking Congress for more money, yet hardly any of the money goes to the men and women fighting the gawd damned war!!
