Report: Mexico at risk for ‘rapid’ collapse
Report: Mexico at risk for ‘rapid’ collapse
Stars and Stripes
Mideast edition, Thursday, January 15, 2009

A U.S. Joint Forces Command report on worldwide security threats says that Mexico is one of two countries that "bear consideration for a rapid and sudden collapse."

That portion of the command’s new study was first reported in Wednesday editions of the El Paso (Texas) Times.

The command’s "Joint Operating Environment (JOE 2008)" report, which contains projections of global threats and potential next wars, puts Pakistan on the same level as Mexico, the Times reported.

"In terms of worse-case scenarios for the Joint Force and indeed the world, two large and important states bear consideration for a rapid and sudden collapse: Pakistan and Mexico," reads the JOE report.

The report continues: "In particular, the growing assault by the drug cartels and their thugs on the Mexican government over the past several years reminds one that an unstable Mexico could represent a homeland security problem of immense proportions to the United States.

1. One solution for part of Mexico's problem
would be for the US to legalize marijuana. Suddenly the huge amounts of money to be made shrink, the cartels will look elsewhere for their profits.

El Norte. And THEN we can dissolve the border - can you say AMERO. Gaza may be a distraction to keep us from paying attention to this.

And here's another one...........................

WTF?! Oh Great. Now we have to 'help' Mexico by invading them? Or is this an excuse to dissolve the border and have us some reeeealy cheap labor?

Mexico as a Failed State Will Require U.S. Military Intervention

The US Department of Defense considers Mexico one of the two governments in the world most likely to suffer a “rapid and sudden collapse” that could require military intervention. A section on “weak and failing countries,” of a report recently released by the US Joint Forces Command says that narcotraffic and organized crime could generate a chaotic scene and the army would be obligated to respond for reasons of national security. At the end of 2008, the US government declared the Mexican drug cartels to be the greatest threat to its territory.

In their meeting Monday, President-elect Obama and President Calderon agreed to establish an alliance to work bilaterally in combating drug and arms traffic, commerce and migration. This is Obama’s first meeting with a president of another country since his election. He also promised to collaborate with the Mexican government in matters of security
