WEST POINT, N.Y. — A 50-year-old woman who worked in the dean’s office at West Point is accused of defrauding the government out of nearly $3 million.

Acting Assistant Attorney General Matthew Friedrich says Bobbie Cyana Ryan of Highland Falls was responsible for coordinating information technology training programs for West Point staff.

According to the criminal complaint, a routine audit led to the discovery by Army investigators that Ryan had used government purchase cards to authorize $2.9 million in payments to CWG Enterprises for training that never happened. Investigators say Ryan then transferred money to her personal account.

After her arrest Wednesday, Ryan was released on a $30,000 bond pending her next federal court appearance in Washington on Jan. 29.

2. This is fall out from the corrupt practices allowed in DC.
Just another bush legacy that rarely gets attributed to it's proper source.

A huge increase in corruption even in the every day lives of Americans. When the supposed leadership of our country is seen breaking the law and ignoring long standing moral rules (like don't politicize justice, don't waste tax payer money, don't use religion to hide your lies), then the weak minded average Joe says if they can get away with it, why can't I?

This is how once well run, efficient countries turn into cesspools of corruption. It starts from the top down.

3. Well when one puts in the top guy after you know he steals
it just goes all over the govt. It sets the tone.It is like in a family and you have a father that steals. Their is a point that the wife and children may also as they do what they see. Or it is how I see it. This is also why we always need some one checking up on people who use tax payers money.Other peoples money looks good for the taking.
