YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan — When staying in a hotel, Cindy Davis sometimes checks under the sheets before getting into bed — just in case some type of creepy-crawly might already be there.
She never thought she would have to do it in her own home.

After getting rid of the parasite, she checked around for more. She found a small group crawling on the wall behind the headboard of her bed.
Four days later, members of Yokota’s entomology shop came to Davis’ base residence to spray.
