CAMP VICTORY, Iraq — Talk about taking a road trip.

Since arriving here in mid-October, the personal security detachment for Command Sgt. Maj. Bernard McPherson of the 18th Military Police Brigade has logged about 5,500 miles around Iraq’s treacherous streets and highways.

The 14-member handpicked team includes three female soldiers, a medic and Army interpreter. Calling themselves the “Titans,” most are from the 92nd Military Police Company’s 2nd Squad, 2nd Platoon of Baumholder, Germany.

Only two members are over 30. All except one are on their first Iraq tours.

The team has traveled north to Forward Operating Base Marez near Mosul; south to Camp Echo in Diwaniyah; over to FOB Delta near the Iranian border; east of the Tigris River in Baghdad; and west to Fallujah and Ramadi.
