Soldier dies in motorcycle crash in Hawaii

A soldier assigned to Army Recruiting Headquarters in Honolulu was killed Jan. 19 in a motorcycle crash, according to a press release. Sgt. Eric Rynearson, 22, a native of Eugene, Ore., was killed when he lost control of his motorcycle, went off the roadway and crashed into a guard rail. The accident is under investigation. Rynearson joined the Army in July 2003. He is survived by his parents and sister. His great-grandfather and grandfather were both soldiers. His great-grandfather, Henry Phillips, served during World War I, while his grandfather, John Phillips, served during World War II.

2. When I started posting from the military rags in October,
