Magazine's Disclosure Clouds the Future of Monaco's Royal Line

By CRAIG S. SMITH
Published: May 5, 2005

PARIS, May 4 - The line of succession to Monaco's throne, which passed last month to Prince Albert II, the bachelor son of Prince Rainier, took a new twist this week with claims by a former flight attendant that she bore Albert a son in August 2003.

The woman, Nicole Coste, went public with her explosive claim on the cover of this week's Paris-Match, the French picture magazine, which published a lengthy interview with the mother together with photographs of Prince Albert playing with the child at various ages. Ms. Coste, 33, insists that she has given no thought to her son's potential as an heir to the Monegasque throne, but does want Prince Albert to publicly acknowledge that he is the father of the child, named Alexandre.

"I'm not a gold digger," she told the magazine. "I wish simply that he would assume some of his responsibilities."

Monaco's palace spokesman, Armand Deus, would neither confirm nor deny Ms. Coste's claims. "No comment about this story, it's as simple as that," he said. "Nothing will be published, that's all I have to say."

5. There is another ....
A daughter. She lives here in southern Cal and her name is Jasmine Grace or Grace Jasmine. She's 13 years old. So he's got himself a Princess & a Prince - nothing left, except the royal birth announcements.

Would he be the Fresh Prince of Monaco? ;)

10. Is Jasmine Grace African-Monacan too?

I'm glad the sister let it all hang our and spoke the truth.
The baby is cute and they should be happy to acknowledge the little baby in Monaco.

"Princess" Stephanie married a circus guy.

I think the irony is so cool!

12. No pics of the Princess
so not sure.

The real battle royale is whether you can be made royal retroactively. Not sure how that works - some body is checking the fine print on that deal. Wouldn't they be first in the succession line? Titles can only happen once the kids are formally acknowledged. Interesting this is all coming out AFTER Prince Albert's dad passed away.

So how bad has Princess Stephanie busted Prince Albert's chops while Princess Caroline has her own issues? A Royal version of "All in the Family"...
