Legendary singer Lena Horne dies
Gorgeous, through and through...

"Jazz singer Lena Horne dies, aged 92"

“I was unique in that I was a kind of black that white people could accept,” she once said. “I was their daydream. I had the worst kind of acceptance because it was never for how great I was or what I contributed. It was because of the way I looked.”

The things this woman (and so many sisters) had to endure just to try to make it make you want to cry out loud...

thank you ms. horne for letting the world know that, black women come in more than one shade and feel just as much pride about who they are as anyone else. thank you for all you did--for women, for people of color, for the black culture, for music and jazz.

may she rest in peace.
