I've wanted to say this for some time about Obama and his supporters
and this is the only place I feel comfortable saying this.

I feel that the only reason he has gained in popularity and had so many people jump on his bandwagon--this is a terrible thing to say, but I truly believe that the majority of them are only interested in being part of electing the first African-American President. It doesn't matter what he stands for or what he wants to accomplish--they just want to be part of history.

While electing the first woman President would be just as precedent setting, I think electing a black male instead of a white female is even bigger.

I'm not trying to offend anyone and hope I haven't, I wanted to like and vote for him, but the more I listened to him and read some things, I just began to mistrust him. I've had bad feelings for months and his recent actions have not change my opinion of him.

Plus his crazy supporters are a big fat pain in the ass...

1. its all marketing and cheating..he cheated in Iowa to make himself look like the
cool thing among the youth..it was all staged and manufactured..

many of us who were on the ground in Iowa for Edwards saw it..but sadly the media saw it too..they just refused to report it...so this thing was developed like the bushies developed the fundies..i told people after Iowa watch out this guy has stolen Iowa..and he has a plan of how it is to be done nationwide..

and if you notice the same smear tactics are in play that Bush used against the dems..only this time it is the dems smearing the dems..it is all part and parcel of the obama plan..this guy isn't just slick..he is devious and sneaky and sly ... in the same way bush/rove was. why more adults haven't figured it out is beyond me..it si nuts to me..but i guess we are a nuts society anymore..so easily swayed by the media machine and marketing machine.

i don't like either of these two candidates..but Obama?..he is the manchurian candidate in my book..totally maniufactured and the more dangerous of the two..in my book.

2. Edwards supporters are issue driven
he had structure and substance in his campaign and we won't let that go. Whoever the nom is, we'll still put that pressure on. The new prez will not only be cleaning up Bush's mess, but contending with US :D

3. Product Obama sells ... unfortunately
I feel like Product Obama is like the latest pet rock or must have Christmas toy because after he gets the nomination/presidency the newness will wear off and then where will we all be. Do any us really know anything about this guy? How I wish Edwards was still in the race!

6. I voted for Sen. Obama in my state's primary.
And not on the color of his skin but on the content of his character, if I may rip off a famous American civil rights leadaer.

8. I voted for Edwards in my state's primary
Edited on Sun Mar-02-08 05:56 AM by cornermouse
even though he announced the day before that he was leaving the race. By the way, since you voted for Obama what are you doing here on the Edwards site? I know I haven't gone to the Obama site.

Is it possible or even probable that you're trying to stir up trouble and do a little enforcement of conformity in advance of the primary? How in character.

9. I believe John Edwards has withdrawn from the nomination race.
It was in a few of the papers.

10. He was on the ballot.
He represented my views. I could vote for someone who represented my view or I could vote for someone else's choice. I voted my conscience and my choice. Beyond that it's none of your business.

11. Never said it was.
Edwards had my full support also. Then he withdrew from the race. I'm supporting Obama at this point.
