And now legitimizing the NE with a pulitzer nomination for destroying a family? A pulitzer for following someone to the men's room/ Why aren't the guys who broke the Larry Craig story nominated? What about Sanford and his "Appalachian Trail"?This is one sick world. Was the Spitzer expose nominated? The McGreevey story?

I also notice those who are rapid for tort reform are hitching their start to this. Yeah, those corporate personhood people sure don't want real people suing. Suing is bad for the bottom line.

1. Civilization is really hitting rock bottom
when the NE is nominated for not just destroying a family, but a family that is NO longer in the public eye.

What was the point of the NE doing this in the first place?

2. No Tabloid that Pays Its Sources for Information
Should even be considered in the Pulitzer category.

5. Here's why they think they can snag a Pulitzer:
Because the New York Times won in the breaking-news category, for the story that brought down Eliot Spitzer. The NE has the audacity to believe that if the NYT can win for a scandal, so can they.

They may also try to score points for dogged determination, because they put a LOT more effort into bringing JRE down than NYT did into their story... at least according to their own estimates.

6. I don't think a rag that PAYS for it's information
can be considered for a Pulitzer .. just my thought.

3. To make sure JRE and the message is buried forever.
Did you hear about Ari Emmanuel, the brother of Rahm, backing a movie about the Edwards scandal? Interesting.

10. After the Health Care vote, haven't seen much news about John Edwards
Why am I not surprised?

BTW the Chatham County Courthouse (where some of the procedings regarding the "sex tape" were held) burned last week. Andrew Young lives in Chatham County, the Edwardses in Orange County, the NC court district includes both counties.

11. Another "news" story on JE with nothing new. Why?
wral.com just added a "news" story about Young trying to get a movie deal and Ari Emanuel being his agent. Of course, a rehash of the whole saga.

That was news two months ago, so the question has to be why run it now. Is traffic at their site down now that basketball season is over? In the past, there is usually some HCR issue returning to center stage.

Any idea what might be the motivation?
