Merry Christmas to my fellow DU musicians!
Hi all! Did anybody get any musical items/gifts? Or did you give a music related gift to anyone? If so what?

2. Great! Those are some very cool gifts!
I got the platinum Queen CD. I'm a huge Queen fan so it was a very nice surprise! To my SO, I gave him 2 sets of drumsticks and a cowbell. He seemed to like them, I hope, or so he says.. :)

Merry Christmas to you too! or Happy Holidays if you prefer.. hehe..

4. My wife gave me a cool drum, like an African "talking drum." It plays like
a conga, but seems to make a much more expressive range of sounds. I'm gonna have to woodshed this thing to get any good on it.

6. not really a musician...yet....
however, been going through a mid-life crisis, thinkin' about how I never took the time to learn how to play the guitar. Been seriously investigating what I want to get for a guitar\amp...lookin' at instructors to get me off the ground, etc.

My wife gave me some guitar picks....small thing, I know....but big, cuz it shows she is supporting me on this.

Been lurking here awhile, checkin' out what you guys\gals have to say...thanks to all for sharin your thoughts and a Merry Christmas...Happy Holidays to you all....hopefully, sometime in the near future, I'll actually have something worthy to say and post here.

13. It's good.
Edited on Mon Dec-27-04 03:21 PM by name not needed
It's a bit of a different sound then their earlier albums. More guitars, and a bit lighter on the electronic effects. Even some acoustics. Good album nonetheless. Mein Teil is probably one of the heaviest songs they've ever recorded.

17. Yes I do - There are some good songs on it
I can tell it will grow on me more and more. Some pretty interesting textures and some great Nancy Wilson guitar work. But as with most of their albums there are one or two clunkers.

Way cool fractal artwork in the CD package!

16. My Wife Got Me A Flute!
I played in college! I had to take a music class somewhere along the way, so i picked woodwinds and learned to play the flute. (Big Jethro Tull Fan!) I haven't played since about 1975, but i always wanted to relearn. I guess my wife got tired of hearing me talk about it, but always buying another keyboard or guitar instead of the stupid flute!

So, she got me one for Christmas! No more excuses! I have to relearn it now!
