Has anyone tried a Ztar?

Should I continue dreaming about saving enough money to get one?

2. NO!!
what a horrible waste of money!

get a roland or yamaha divided pickup. it is a skinny thing that goes right in front of the bridge that has a pickup for each string, and outputs to a floor or rack unit that can then be converted to MIDI.

if you already have a synth/computer program you want to use, then all you need is one of the divided pickups and the GI-20.

3. Yeah, go for the Roland or Yamaha option
You can get a Roland MIDI guitar setup for around $400 new these days. Or you can probably find a deal on an older setup on eBay for under $300.

Or if you want to spend a little more, go for a Roland guitar synth. You get the benefits of MIDI guitar and a decent synth module, to boot.

If it's just the MIDI guitar controller you want, there's many companies that make guitars with built-in hex pickup systems already installed. Godin makes many different models with synth access, and even Fender makes a strat with a Roland GK pickup built in.

It's easier to play synth-guitar on a REAL guitar, IMHO, than on a simulated guitar-like controller.

4. Nope
I've never tried a Ztar but I love the sound of it. I didn't know it was spelled Ztar. I always thought it was sitar. lol.
