Are you listening on headphones, or speakers - what kind?
I don't have professional monitors, so depend on my sennheiser (inexpensive) and KLH two-speakers plus a sub to hear the stuff. With a low-rate mp3 only so much can be expected, but does it sound ok loud on your system?

i'm listening thru a 18 source RadioSystems Inc Audio Board and a pair of Sentry 100a Studio Monitors...sounds great!
We do have some very pricey Processors here and that may help a bit...but all things being equal...i would say it is air quality!

can i steal it for some commercials?
