Slowed it down a little, used a peavey blackpanel (5100 Series) (using a telecaster on the neck pu) for the main rhythm guitar with the chiming on a marshall bluesbreaker, (with an Epi Paul Studio) then using it for an additional crunch. On the lead, I used a fender tweed (with a DeArmond M-65-C.

You know what? As I listened to the song, it seems every single fucking bit as relevant today as it did in the 1960s. I was there then and I'm here now. Those guys were prescient.

1. yeah. despotism, unfortunately, never goes out of style
I play this song out regularly.

I've also started playing John Prine's "Your Flag Decal Won't Get You Into Heaven Anymore."

I only do a few covers and these are two of them.
