One of the most satisfying things about being a musician is ........
...buying stuff.

And the icing on the cake is..... there are some great bargains out there.

Wouldn't you agree?

2. I am. And that's why I was so happy today because...
...when I got home from work, there was a little package waiting for my son & I that contains a few odds and ends. I got some GHS Eric Johnson strings that I'm dying to use. I don't really know that much about Eric Johnson, but his strings get rave reviews. My son got a set of Zakk Wylde strings that have a .060 E-string. He'll have no fear tuning down now.

My son also got the switchbox for his new VOX amp, and I got a new set of monitors for the studio.

That's about all the GAS I can afford for awhile.

3. EJ is a Texas guitar wonder
I always faound his music to be pretty lightweight, but he can sure play the notes and get amazing tone.

What kind of monitors?

4. Behringer Truth Passive Monitors.
It's my first Behringer purchase. But I did my research an nothing sounds as good for $160.......... A PAIR.

They sound great. I listened to some mixes that were OK, ... but I wasn't completely satisfied with after listening to them outside of my humble studio. And on the Behringers they sound bad for all the right reasons. My amp is set pretty flat now and everything.

I got the ones with the 8" bass and they are pretty hefty. Nice work. Shielded too.

5. I'll be in the market for studio monitors in a couple of months
I have an old pair of Alesis monitors. I hate them for mixing.

Have fun!

6. Another good thing is
Being able to get rid of stuff when you are low on cash..lol. Actually it sucks. I have sold my BC Rich Bass, Fender tele and my classical. I can't wait until I get back on my feet. I think I want to get an SG. I don't know why, but I want one.

9. I Can Go With That
Also, i always think of Tom Hanks in League of Their Own. "If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. It's supposed to be hard. The hard is what makes it great."

10. Ever so often someone pulls me aside and says... "I really liked that"
When spoken honestly and from the heart...its the greatest thing about playing.

14. Yes, that is a great feeling
also: when the applause at the end of your set is just a tad longer and louder than it usually is. You take that with you.
