1. "The Trouble With Angels"
I like this movie a lot. The Hayley Mills character is a real troublemaker, but not malicious, just an individual, and, it turns out, a leader. There are some fun sequences of the two friends causing trouble and rebelling, with "scathingly brilliant" ideas, some seriousness as they adjust a little bit more to the place, some goofy scenes where the kids try to make elegant gowns, learn dance, etc., and some very touching scenes in a place for the elderly, and after the death of one of the nuns. The Hayley Mills character changes during the course of the movie, getting deeper and more serious, thoughtful, but still her own person, and a movie like this shows you why Hayley Mills was one of the all-time great child stars, like Patty Duke, Dean Stockwell, and of course, Mickey and Judy. There is a real surprise ending to the movie, too. Really well directed by Ida Lupino.

2. Thanks for sharing your insights!
This is a movie that I thought I was familiar with but after reading your comments, I realized that I haven't seen it in a long time, if I've seen it at all. So I'm now set up to record it.

I do agree with you about Hayley Mills. She's probably the first actress that I recall playing two parts in the same movie and she does a good job of making them different in The Parent Trap.
