I adore this classic musical from MGM. Almost the perfect classic movie musical. In some ways, I like "The Bandwagon" more than "Singin' in the Rain".

1. More people need to know it.
I was lucky enough to catch The Bandwagon at the student union back in the day.

So what do you think of the print and the extras in the DVD set?

2. It's WONDERFUL.
The film has been remastered and looks glorious. It's a two disc set...the movie, with commentary by Michael Feinstein and Liza Minnelli (which is delightful and informative). The 2nd disc includes a documentary about Vincente Minnelli, a new documentary about the making of "The Bandwagon", a outtake of a deleted number, "Two Faced Woman".

I paid all of $10 for this, from amazon.com. And it's a bargain...I'm very happy with it. :-)

3. Michael Feinstein? Woo-hoo!
Didn't he work for Ira Gershwin at some point? I'm sure he must have a lot of interesting things to say. I've never seen Feinstein live, but I have heard some of the banter on his CDs...

4. Yes, he did.
Michael Feinstein's knowledge of musical theater is encyclopedic. He imparted some interesting knowledge about "The Bandwagon". :-)
