The politics are progressive, the flirtation between Joseph Cotten and Loretta Young wholesome but sexy, and you can't beat Charles Bickford and Ethel Barrymore as, respectively, a tough Irish-American with a heart of gold and a political matriarch who knows she's the equal (and sometimes the superior) of any man in her party. Great DU viewing for Unity Weekend. :popcorn:

3. One film I've never seen is "Rasputin and the Empress",
with all the Barrymores. It may not have been a great film, but I'd
like to see it just because it's Them. And throw in the magnificent
Adrian costumes, it would be a feast for the eyes and ears.

It's very old (1932), and I don't know if it has survived - does anyone
know?
