Tonight TCM pays tribute to the oft-nominated Peter O'Toole, who received an honorary Academy Award a couple of years back but has never won the statuette in competition.

2. And he did get nominated for "Venus."
I understand too that he only accepted the honorary Oscar with the assurance that receiving it wouldn't disqualify him from competition!
