1. Be sure to catch 'Blue Gardenia'
IMHO one of Anne Baxter's and Raymond Burr's better efforts! A film noir classic with a great story line....

2. And a word for "Tom Jones".
I have it on my Quickflix list, although I believe the film hasn't
been remastered, and the quality isn't too good. That's a sin, when
it won the Oscar for best film.

Apart from that, it was groundbreaking in its day, and I'll be
interested to see how it stacks up today. It was very raunchy, and
the scenes of both rural and city life weren't pretty, as we were
used to back in the sixties. Life was often brutal and dirty, even in
the upper classes, and it showed that.

Forget Albert Finney as he is today - a fine actor still, but dreadfully
overweight. Back then, he was gorgeous and very, very sexy.

Do take a look - I'd love to hear what people think, especially
anyone who hasn't seen it before.

3. I still haven't seen "Tunes of Glory."
If I am not mistaken, that's the film in which both Alec Guinness and John Mills are playing against type, that in fact each man is playing a role more suited to the other! And I understand it works.
