Zorba the Greek
I don't know if anyone ever posts in this group. Or is it just a place to parrot tv guide?
Well, let me take a chance.
Zorba.
My ma, mother saw this when I was a kid, when it came out. She and others raved about it.
But I didn't see it until it was on tv about 5 or 10 years ago. I taped it. And watched it.
Oh, what a sweet film. So much fun. Black and white, which I usually don't like. But it worked anyway.
What a story. Just plain, but right on target for the scene. Very much amenable to cinematography.
A view of the post war situation they faced there.
Why do I think of this now? I don't know, it just comes to mind from time to time.

1. We're more than the TCM programming guide.
But the list of movies that TCM is showing turns out to be a good starting point for movie discussions. At least, we have a common opportunity to watch those movies.

Which leads me to Zorba, and I must admit, I've never seen the movie all the way through. I've caught it in the middle, and was too confused about the situation to watch to the end.

Any one else?

2. I say, do yourself a favor. Try it all the way thru'. The start was a
very important part to me, as any is, to get me set up into liking or not, the scenario.
I love the way it starts.
But of course, it was the right thing at the right time for me. That moment. But try it. What have you got to lose?
It probably is at the library. I don't know where you are, but here in Los Angeles the libraries have every, well almost everything along those lines.
