Preschool and First Reader history books from a liberal perspective
I have discovered a Thanksgiving Day book in my son's collection that he received as a gift from his grandparents, and I am somewhat wary of the perspective it shares (pilgrims godly and enlightened, indians unruly sort of thing). I want to avoid these kinds of things, or at least be able to counter them.

I'd appreciate feedback about "first reader" books that will help frame a historically accurate (as opposed to fairy tale) point of view. TIA!
