1. Had to go with turn-based
Simply for the fact there's so damn few of them anymore and, as a result, each one is a cherished purchase.

4. FPS ... but RPG is a close second
I really liked Morrowind because it was almost a combination of both. I can't wait for Bethesda's "Fallout" sequel.

5. It's all about RPGs for me
Strategy RPGs, action RPGs, you name it and I can't get enough of it. I can't stand 90% of 3D platformers (Mario Sunshine is collecting dust on my game rack), and as I get older I find I have less and less patience for FPS games.

Was never one for sports games, and Soul Calibur 2 has spoiled me so badly all my other fighting games have collected dust. I am turning into such a crotchety gamer.

6. Can't pick one
Real-time and turn-based strategy are both favorites, role-playing and simulation as well.
HATE FPS.

7. fps/rpg mixes
Not many of them, but:

System Shock2
Deus Ex
No One Lives Forever (the sequel was even better)

These are RPGs that have a FPS look and play style.

On console games, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Zelda games. Prince of Persia was close, but didn't have the fun wandering around puzzle solving elements. It was more of a platform/fighter.

Mario Sunshine was okay the first time through, but it go so hard at the end, I just shelved it. Too much jumping.

Also like RTS games, Total Annihilation, Starcraft, C&C (Yuri's Revenge, particularly). Not big for online play, though.

And Civ2 will always be on my hard drive.

13. Sports
If I logged up all my gaming hours it's likely that sports games would be at the top.

Front Page Sports Baseball, High Heat Baseball, every release of Madden in the last decade...

RPGs and turn-based strategy would be next.

14. I'm torn
I used to be excusively simulations, specifically flight simulators, but lately I've gone back to FPS's, specifically CS and HL2. I'm still having trouble with Doom 3.

15. Stealth
e.g. Thief, Splinter Cell, and games where stealth is a viable
option and is supported by the game engine, such as System Shock 2 and
Deus Ex.

On a sort of related note, it's a damn shame that Looking Glass Studios
is no longer. I recently finished Thief 3; it's a good game and
readily apparent that many people from LGS had their hands in it,
I think it would have turned out better had LGS still existed to
create it. Incidentally, if you like being scared out of your mind
then pick up a copy of Thief: Deadly Shadows and be on the lookout for
the Shalebridge Cradle, a haunted building that was simultaneously an
orphanage and a mental hospital.
