Australian Court Rules 'Mod Chips' Legal
http://apnews.excite.com/article/20051006/D8D2GB8OK.html

SYDNEY, Australia (AP) - Australia's High Court ruled unanimously Thursday that modifying Sony PlayStation consoles so that they can play cheaper overseas versions of the company's games does not violate Australian copyright laws.

The decision ends a four-year legal battle between entertainment and Japanese electronics giant Sony Corp. (SNE) and Sydney-based business owner Eddy Stevens, who supplied and installed "mod chips" in PlayStation devices.

Hooray for people being able to do what they want with stuff they paid for.

1. This is a great ruling....once you pay for it it's yours.
If I want to put a mod-chip in it....that's my business. If I want to buy an X-box, and then take a big shit on it....that's my business. If I want to build it into a robot....that's my business. If I want to play frisbee with it....that's my business....ect

Once I buy it it belongs to me, not Microsoft.
