***Grand Theft Auto/San Andreas for PC is HERE*****Oh, DUDE!
Got my copy today. The official release date is June 7th., but none of the regular stores in my neighborhood have it on the shelf except:

Wal-Mart...God I hate that place.

They don't even have it listed on their official inventory yet. If you call they will probably tell you they don't have it yet...but it was there. I got tipped on a website that it was up yesterday. You have to go look on the shelf. There is a display announcing the June 7th release with pre order forms, but if you look down on the bottom shelf, you may be able to get your hands on a copy. The store I checked had about 10 copies.

I haven't installed it yet. I will post an update later today.

San Andreas is supposed to be 5 times bigger than Vice City. The tips, tricks, and walk through manual is 300 FUCKIN PAGES LONG!!!

Later.

1. Here's some early stuff:

Check out the size of this Game Map

You must have a DVD Player (8X) to play this game.

Anyone else going to be playing?
I don't do cheats, and would prefer not to have the walkthroughs, but it would be nice if a few DUer were playing at the same time.
Sometimes I just get stuck and need a friendly hint.

2. Is anybody in here?
Hellooo....Hellooo........Hellooo.....Hellooo......
that's some echo!

San Andeas is SUPREME. The MAP is so large it is overwhelming.
They have included a digital "You are here MAP" that you can check during the game if you get lost. (which you will).

The detail is incredible.
The Music good, or you can use your own.
The dialog fantastic, and the interaction between characters surprisingly good.
There is just SO MUCH STUFF, and I've only seen part of the first section.

If you even think you might like this game...BUY IT. You won't be disappointed.

Hope someone joins in....kinda lonely in here.
Later.
I'm going back to Los Santos and my Homies...The Grove Street Gang!

5. I was at the store today and thought about buying it...
... but I decided to hold off on it. I've played all the GTA games though I never finished Vice City -- simply became bored with it. After playing Mafia (which I've pimped probably more than once before on these boards), GTA had nothing more for me other than the third-person city-wide driving/action game (whatever you call the genre) experience. Still, I'll probably pick it up eventually...

6. I had the same experience with Vice City
Got bored, never finished it. But SA is different. The storylines are more interesting, the challenges more challenging, the dialogue downright hilarious in parts. I got the Xbox version last week, been playing for about 50 hours and only 41% finished.

8. Didn't do much burgling.
The best way to make money fast is to run the pimping missions.

9. You need a boxvan to burglarize
It's actually pretty close to your starting home, but any boxvan will do. Then just drive up to richman, and hit 2. Then run burglary missions.

Pimping is more fun though.

I did the Pimp Missions in San Fiero and have some money now, but I'm going to go back to Los Santos and do some more stuff. I'll check out the boxvan thing.

11. Hey, couple of more questions:
*What IS a boxvan? I've jacked most of the vans I've sen on the road in Los Santos, and none of them are "boxvans". What does it look like?

* Should I be gunning down groups of bangers on the street? I've been just been ignoring them unless they block me, but I've lost ALL my territory (0% in the stats). I DID clean out a few around Mom's house because they were shooting at me whenever I went there to save games, and now Mom's house is alot safer.

*I've only managed to find 17/100 grafitti signs to spray over. Are all 100 in Los Santos?

12. I Haven't Played San Andreas Yet, But...
I think a box van it like a mid-size Ryder truck. It has a cab like a normal van but a box on the back end for cargo.

13. All the answers here
http://www.gta-sanandreas.com/

FYI, you have to complete an early mission to be able to burglarize. Once you do, a short cutscene shows you where the Boxvan can be found. I forget where it is in Los Santos, 'cause I've done all my burgling in San Fierro.

I assume you've completed the mission that lets you start claiming territory (A mission with Sweet, where you take over Glen Park). To take over territory, you kill four rival gang members in their territory while on foot, which starts a gang war, then finish off the three waves of attacks that follow. The game will tell you 'This hood is yours.' You don't need to attack randomly, but occassionally you'll get a notice that part of your territory is under attack. If you don't get to the neighborhood (It'll be flashing red on the map) and finish off the rival gang members, you lose the territory.
