You know you game too much when...
(Inspired by a guy I knew online who was late to his own wedding because he had to pick up his pre-ordered copy of Halo 2 the day it came out)

-You thought Core made up the Desert Eagle for Tomb Raider.

-Online friends worry about your well-being after you've disappeared, then sigh in relief when someone points out a Final Fantasy game was released that day.

-You have dreams about standing in line for a new console.

-You've named pets after video game characters.

-The very word "Daikatana" makes you break out into controllable laughter, for minutes at a time.

-You don't work at your local game store, but get the employee discount anyway. Double points if other shoppers have ever mistaken you for staff.

-You have entire hard drives devoted solely to game soundtracks. Double points if you've ever imported game CDs from Japan.

-Vicious arguments have broken out in your circle of friends over which fighting game character is the best ass-kicker. Double points if math equations and/or charts were involved.

-You can't remember the names of various real-life motorcycles, so you call them by their Vice City equivalents.

-You listen to songs from Dance Dance Revolution on your Discman/iPod and unconsciously begin tapping your feet in the correct steps, in public. Double points if someone smiles knowingly at you.

-Your significant other "gets friendly" with you while playing Champions of Norrath together, and you yell at him/her to stop because orcs are attacking you. Double points if you die as a result and don't speak to him/her for a couple of hours afterwards.

-Your friends are watching G4, a segment comes on about obsessed Final Fantasy geeks, and they seriously think you're on it...then are disappointed when you're not.

-You've ever sat down and tried to make sense of the entire Zelda timeline. Double points if flowcharts and/or spreadsheets were involved.

-You've purchased games solely because of the mods people have made for them (Sailor Moon Quake, anyone?).

-You can recite the Konami Code from memory. Double points if you've been caught doing it in your sleep.

-You are fluent in any made up video game language (Al Bhed, Simmerish, etc.).

-While shopping at Ikea, you recognize furniture you've downloaded for The Sims.

-You've been to so many anime/sci-fi cons dressed as your favorite character that people actually recognize you. Double points if they don't recognize you out of costume.

-You own more action figures than most kids you know.

-You've ever been in an argument over what does and does not constitute canon when it comes to your favorite series. Double points if you bring up continuity errors.

-You write fanfic for your favorite game. Double points for lemons (yaoi/hentai/whatever). Triple points if you've ever modded a list/board/LJ comm for said fics.

-You think the world's problems would totally be solved if we just made Shigeru Miyamoto Secretary General of the UN.

(Every last one of these applies to me...I really need to get out more...:P)

1. You own the "All Your Base" shirt
For the record, I don't, but I've seen them, and I felt sorta nerdy when I knew what it meant.

2. My kids game too much
The only way to get their attention is to go into the game myself and shotgun them.

5. Miyamoto..
*sigh*

I read that a fan saw him at the Nintendo booth this week, ran over to him, got a pic of herself with him, and began uncontrollably sobbing/screaming.

Ahh.. Miyamoto.. on HotOrNot.com, I gave him a "10." :loveya:

4. speaking of DDR-style dancing...

just came back from japan and that brought back a memory. i was at a drum 'n bass/happy hardcore party in some backalley basement in shibuya and was smirking fiendishly watching all the japanese people 'dance' essentially DDR style. didn't matter their fashion, be it gosu-loli, visual kei, punk, hip hop, hippie chic, whatever, they all just did the same bouncing tap, tap, tap cockroach stomp of DDR. no flourish, no shoulders, arms, hips, hands, head, fancy footwork, in synch gyrations, nothing, just DDR cockroach stomp. it was thoroughly amusing, absolutely adorable. but they had a cigarette vending machine down in the basement, so that was a plus. naturally i had to show them a thing or two and eventually i found them mimicking me. friends don't let friends DDR cockroach stomp on real dancefloors. it was my good deed for the vacation.
