I just completed "Shadows of Undrentide".............................
the first expansion pack for Neverwinter Nights.

I thought that it would be really difficult to take a paladin through this game because, as low-level characters, paladins are pretty weak, comparatively. But fortunately, if one can get through the first chapter you have an opportunity to get some equipment that will set you up for the rest of the game.

For some reason this X-pack loves paladins. Like I said above it gives you cool equip out the yang, and a few pally-specific quests. When I finished the game last night (at some ungodly hour), I had a 12th Level Paladin, with pretty average stats, except for:

- Armor Class: 29 ((great armor which added +2), +5 amulet of natural armor)
- Strength: 22 (Lesser Gauntlets of Ogre Power STR +1, Bull's Strength)
- Charisma: 25 (armor listed above +1 to CHA, Nymph Cloak +5)

The only bad thing (and its not really that bad) is that at the end of the game, some of the toughest bosses couldn't even touch me. I brought all these health packs and elixirs and didn't need one of them. The toughest boss in the game couldn't lay a paw on me and I dispatched her quickly.

I'm planning on taking this character through the next expansion pack, Hordes of the Underdark, and see how he stacks up against some drow. This XP will also give me the opportunity to take this paladin to epic status (level 21 and above).

I really love this game. Its nicely filled the hole when all my rule-geekin', D&D-playing buddies have burned themselves out on playing pen and paper. I've played quite a few PC D&D games, but I think NWN is by far the best.

1. Absolutely.
I recommend you try out the CEP content and community created modules when you're done with Hordes.

I *really* liked The Citadel, but you should be 20+ before you try it.

If you dig around you can find many of the paper&pencil AD&D modules... I dug playing the Llolth modules... Queen of the Demonweb Pits.
Of note are the Penultima City, Shadowlords and A Call for Heroes series of modules.

2. The Citadel is an excellent module
although the persistent corpses tend to slow it down a lot. The final battle is amazing, though.
