3. The problem goes deeper according to this....
To "fix" the problem, MS is replacing power cords. Those with this Foxlink power supply will get some huge cord with an Arc Fault Interrupter on it. Basically, this will stop a fire, but won't prevent damage to your Xbox. Apparently, the new cord does not fit as tight to prevent you from having to use much force to plug in it (adding strain to the weak connection). Xbox owners with the better Delta power supply will get a cord that looks just like the one they have now, but will fit a little looser just as a precaution I assume.

More info can be found here in this thread on Xbox Scene.

4. Thanks for the link
Mine has only ever been plugged and unplugged a few times. I don't ever move it or carry it around to LAN parties so hopefully I'm safe from the loose and cracking solder on the power supply. I did get one of those clunky Arc Fault Interrupter cords from M$ within a few days, so I shouldn't be burning down the house soon.

As for mod chips, mines not chipped so I'm not worried about M$ getting my info. (not that there is anything wrong with a modded xbox, I just never felt like modding mine)
