Dog Bless Fark: "The plural of anecdote is not data"
Best response to a global warming denier I've ever seen.

Not a Rick Roll!

1. Jeeeeezz
Jeez Louise, the GW deniers in that thread are a sad, sad lot. How the hell did a simple scientific observation get to be a political issue dividing right and left? (rhetorical question FWIW)

2. I have a good friend of twenty years
He has a masters in soil ecology/microbiology, and he's pursuing his doctorate.

The past August, he flat out told me that the human impact upon global warming is a myth.

Having known him for two decades, I knew that any objection would have resulted in him shifting into "I'm a scientist mode" and gone downhill from there. So I just nodded and said that I didn't have the data on hand to discuss the matter fully.

The ignorant naysayers are bad enough, but the ones with a bit o' learning under their belts are so much worse.

3. We'll have to remember that one for use around here.
That seems to be a common confusion amongst a set of posters in a certain forum.

4. I use that phrase all the time when it comes to the Vaccine-Autism Woos.
The testimony of a bunch of fearful parents are 100% sure their kids became Autistic right after they got their shots is not acceptable as data, too much confirmation bias and mass hysteria.
