4. Gold lame?
Obviously a synchronitic reference to the thread about Uri(ne) (hey, it's GOLD!) Geller buying a former Elvis house.

My one-word response, even though it's too late:

Delphic.

You should become an oracle. (No, not the database. That's patented and stuff.) Flexible hours, VERY good income, only job requirement the ability to utter portentuous gibberish open to any interpretation.

Sorry, it's Thursday night in Egypt, which is the same as Friday night in the West. I have started my weekend with several bites by a wild turkey.

And that's another Delphic utterance. Only The Chosen will be able to decipher it.

5. Ok, an explanation of sorts.
I wasn't given an opportunity to take someone to task for suggesting someone I know's financial trouble would just go away if he didn't concentrate on it.

That suggestion makes me think someone has never known anyone who runs a small business, or ever been one customer sending in a check late from having their house foreclosed on, or having one customer paying be the difference between eating and not eating, or having one customer paying late being the difference between having a working set of tools to do business with and not being able to work for a week because your tools all need to be repaired.

The notion that some supposed new spirituality is going to solve all of the problems in the world-- which are just the result of us being greedy and worrisome-- makes me almost go crazy. Having a positive attitude has never put food on the table, but the first time I got a substantial paycheck and spent more than $100 for food I sat in my car and cried.

I'd like to see someone who thinks their new age spirituality is going to be the answer to everything try to stretch $300 over three months. I think they'll find pretty soon that worrying is not their problem-- not having any food, clothes, fuel, or work is.

6. You just need to stop being so negative and magic will happen
Food will appear on people's doorsteps and money will magically appear in the bank account. :sarcasm: I forgot that cancer and lupus will vanish too.

7. You know nothing about me....

...what I 've been through or what my life is like now.

What really bothers me are posters who are quick to use another persons struggles as an example of 'real' life, and pretend that their proximity somehow makes it theirs'.

Go ahead and believe what you want...it's ridiculous for you to become agitated over what I believe.

8. Hmmmm
You're on a hiding to nothing here. We're not going to give up our evidence based, reality based thinking no matter how hard you try. All you do is aggravate old frustrations and re-open wounds. What are you really here for?

9. I don't want to know anything about you. I don't care what you believe.
You're the one who keeps butting in and pointing out how spiritual and enlightened you are. If reality bothers you that much, then just.... go away.

10. Hey corn holder. That 'guy' is my dad.
Unless you're so disconnected from reality, you'd realize that what children always figure out what their parents are going through.

And I have every right to be agitated over what you believe, especially since you're going around telling everyone they're wrong and you're right.

11. Thanks.
I figured your "Lame" was a reference to the New Age missionary. Just couldn't resist adding my own irrelevant yapping. :-)

Sorry about the troubles you're describing. I've been there.
