Signs of Life Still in the Enlightenment
http://davidbrin.blogspot.com/2008/05/signs-of-life-still-in-enlightenment.html

David Brin is one of my all-time favorite Sci-Fi authors, and he always has great things to say. He'd be a good person to have as a science adviser in the new administration.

I think he hit the nail on the head on why Ben Stein's Expelled may ultimately be a good thing - that it finally exposes the fundamentalists for what they are - opposed to science.

(if you like sci-fi and haven't read any of Brin's stuff, run out and get some of his work. Disregard the mess of a movie, The Postman, which was based on a really good novel of his. Kiln People, his latest work, is a great little sci-fi/detective story that also delves into the practical ethics of cloning)
