There are new babies in the garden!
We got these girls on Saturday. Ten of them. We're only keeping five, though. They are so cute and too, too much fun to watch. LOL

2. Just like with kitties and puppies...
...if they stayed like that, I'd have tons of them. LOL I love all babies except the human kind. Give me an animal baby and I go all maternal. Go figure.

3. We got a new kitten over the weekend....
...and Starkraven has gone all maternal (me too a little).
We don't have any pix yet, but he's really cute.

4. Peeps! I want some again.
How adorable!

Have you seen these? http://www.mypetchicken.com/Kits_with_Chickens-Green_Eglu__with_2_chickens_-P127.aspx?gclid=CMq_gLS3wZQCFScuagodHkTcGQ

I like this better: http://www.mypetchicken.com/Chicken_Coops-4__x_8__Chicken_Coop_Building_Plans-P202.aspx

I loved having chickens. The neighbors complained about my alarm cock (heh heh) so I gave my chickens and Rooster to a friend who lived on a farm.

I miss free range eggs!

6. That second one is cute.
And totally functional for chickens, but that first one, not so much. We have six mostly adult chickens and everyone lives out here:

That was taken before we planted the garden. Looks quite different now.

9. They're little scamps, they are!
LOL We always let them roam freely around the secure pen through the day but put them back in their enclosures at night, just until they get big enough that they won't be easy pickins, ya know? They aren't too hard to catch within that small pen but there was one last night that just would not cooperate for the LONGEST time. She ran around as fast as her little legs would carry her and was pretty good at dodging me, too.

The other night a couple of the bigger chickens figured out that if they stood on top of the coop, they could fly over the fence. Thank goodness we got them before the dogs did! We were out there at 9pm clipping all their wings. There were a total of three escape attempts and chases before we got them all clipped and settled in for the night. :eyes:

8. I want chickens so bad, but I can't have em in the city limits.
And I am, if nothing else, an urban farmer.

10. We do what we can.
You know, if you have a privacy fence and your garden is far enough away from it, you might be able to keep a couple hens without anyone knowing it really. Altho if you have meter readers, which you probably do, you'd eventually get caught. Wish it were different for you.
