Need help with tomato plant and herbs turning brown in the middle.
It's happening on my oregano and one of my tomato plants.

The main branch turns brown and the leaves/growth coming from the middle of the plant is drying out.
Yet the outer leaves are fine.

I once had this happen to some herbs I was growing in a container and they all finally died :(

Anyone know what causes this? I don't want to lose these plants.

1. It would help if you could post a picture or two.
"leaves/growth coming from the middle of the plant" do you mean new suckers/shoots, or sections of existing branches with healthy looking leaves at the ends?

Look at this Iowa guide -- it has plenty of pictures. Maybe you'll see something similar.

2. Thanks - it's either blight or spider mites.
Tomorrow I will have to pull some leaves off and study them more.

Your link lead me to this

Both are worth bookmarking.
