This strange weather
First week of November in central Maryland. Yesterday I picked yellow squash, green beans, jalapeno peppers and green tomatoes from the vegetable garden. The basil was still lush and blooming.

We've had a couple of very light frosts, but not enough to wipe out the basil and peppers yet. Last month was the warmest October in Washington DC since record-keeping began in the late 19th century.

If this trend continues, maybe in 10 years I'll be picking avocados and oranges.
