New Tarot Reading - Subject - ROVE
Very interesting little tidbits.

lots of nefarious doings.... the last card has me stumped though.
my comments are in parentheses...

READING- Prediction
DATE – 7-8-05
SUBJECT – Rove (Plame, Jail?) (DU VERSION)

CARDS 1, 2, 3. PRESENT ENVIRONMENT

1) The Emperor (R) – Loss of control. Serious injury in battle. Emotional immaturity and bondage to parents. Possibility of being defrauded of one’s inheritance.
Take a good look at the situation and face up to it’s realities. (REALITY – we are gonna take you down! ) This card may also represent a benevolent or compassionate person, perhaps a parent or authority figure, who is sympathetic to you but unable to help. You must rely only on yourself to see the way through the situation. (they will abandon him to us wolves!)

2) Knight of Cups (R ) – Sensual, idle, untruthful. Swindling, trickery, fraud. Propositions should be carefully looked into.
He is a swindler and a cheat, an unreliable person who may be the bearer of some fraud or unsound proposition. (sounds like Rover to me)
3) The Chariot (R ) – Decadent desires, possibility of ill health, restlessness and desire for change, an unethical victory. (the election?)
Disputes, quarrels or litigation leave you restless and desiring a change. Be prepared for bad news or a setback in a long struggle.

CARDS 4, 5, 6. ELEMENTS OF THE QUESTION

4) The Magician – Will, mastery, organizational skills, creative talents. The ability to take the power from above and direct it through desire into manifestation. (that’s what he has been doing for years – using BushCo’s power, he had none of his own)
He is a man of willpower and competency. Use your will to seize opportunities and create your destiny. The tools are at hand to achieve your goal. And with practice and concentration success is guaranteed. Risks and investments bring great rewards. An exciting new venture or friendship may be in store, or if in the past, still continuing successfully. This card also indicates good health and recovery from any present illness. (that would suck. I think this means he has the potential to win, if we let up. See below. Never give up!)

5) The Fool (R ) – Folly, indiscretion, thoughtless action. The choice is likely to be faulty. (hmm, outing Plame was a bad idea…. Hee hee )
This card indicates an indiscretion or unwise action. Inattention to details, hesitation or apathy can lead to trouble. Discipline and action are needed, despite the unpleasantness of the task.

6) The Hermit (R ) – Refusal to listen to wisdom. Immaturity, foolish vices. Rejection of maturity; the tendency to be a perpetual Peter Pan.
Bureaucracy and indecision result in delay and inactivity. Take charge of the situation and act without further discussion or hesitation. (Scrambling to cover his butt now, isn’t he?)

CARDS 7, 8, 9. OBSTACLES TO BE SURMOUNTED / HOW SURMOUNTED

7) Four of Swords – Hermit’s repose. Rest after war. Banishment. (like that one!) Relaxation of anxiety, release from suffering. There will soon be a change for the better. Not a card of death. (darn)
THIS CARD INDICATES THE NEED FOR MEDICATION. (lol!) Take time out to give your mind a much-needed rest from the noise of everyday life. Replenish your inner strength and end your weariness by taking time to sort things out alone. (This is where we come in – NO REST, NO REPRIEVE! DO NOT LET UP FOR A MINUTE. GIVE HIM NO TIME TO ‘SORT THINGS OUT’)

8) Six of Wands (R ) – Rewards are delayed. Insolence of the victorious. Watch for successful enemy. (that would be us again)
Beware of treachery and disloyalty among friends, (see also – ‘double-dealing’ below) for this card indicates that rewards are delayed in the face of strife.

9) Two of Cups – Harmony of the masculine and the feminine. Reciprocity, the beginning of a friendship or love affair. Balance of ideas and plans with a kindred soul.
Passions and emotions run high as you approach what you have your heart set upon. This card denotes a strong union between you and another person in new love or friendship. (Because this in under OBSTACLES – it may refer to the joining of Reps. and Dems. to take him out)

CARDS 10, 11, 12. WHAT WILL COME UNBIDDEN

10) King of Swords (R ) – Distrustful, suspicious. Also harsh and malicious. Plotting, barbarity, power for disruption are revealed. (REVEALED, whoo whoo!)
He is a barbarian, harsh, violent, and cruel. Trusting no-one, he uses evil and wickedness to achieve his power. This card warns of bad intentions, deceptions, disruptions, plots and machinations.

11) Nine of Wands (R ) – Weakness, ill health, adversity, displeasure.
This card warns of obstacles and struggles that are difficult to overcome. Take the time to strengthen yourself both mentally and physically and prepare to defend yourself against possible adversity. (AGAIN- DO NOT LET UP- DO NOT LET HIM CATCH HIS BREATH)

12) King of Cups (R) – A powerful man, but likely to be crafty and violent. A fierce nature under a calm exterior. Double dealing. Beware of being robbed of either virtue or money.
He is a crafty scoundrel, a powerful man who hides his violent nature beneath a calm exterior. This card may also represent a man with light-brown hair and hazel eyes. ( I have no idea what color his eyes are)

CARDS 13, 14, 15. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO ACHIEVE
This card may mean widowhood, mourning, privation. Kindness but also firmness. Keen observation.
She is a severe and chaste widow, keen and subtle, kind but firm. This card warns of privation, absence and sadness. This card may also indicate a woman with brown eyes and brown hair.

14) Page of Cups (R ) – Little desire to create. Dilettantism. Good taste. Seduction. A deception may soon be uncovered. (again – Whoo – whoo!) Obstacles. Unpleasant news.
This youth practices deception and seduction and has little desire for real work. This card may indicate an unfaithful lover or potential obstacles.

15) King of Wands – Handsome and passionate, he is agile in mind and body. A country gentleman, generally married. Loyal and noble, he comes of good family. Sometimes he is too hasty. If no man seems to be involved in the spread of the cards, you will find these traits: honesty, friendliness, passion. The card may mean unexpected heritage; a good marriage.
This card may also signify a man with blond or red hair and blue eyes.
(This card has me completely baffled…any ideas?)

1. Also interesting....
at least to me..

Out of 15 cards - 10 are reversed.
major Archana - 5 (all within the first two questions - 4 are reversed.)
High(page to king) Minor Archana - 6 total, 4 are reversed
Minor -low cards - 4 total 2 are reversed

No Pentacles at all

last 3 questions - 1 each of Swords, Cups and Wands (in that order, except last one Cups and Wands are switched)

I don't know if this means anything, but it's weird!

2. what is card 13?
you gave the description...I was thinking 9 of pentacles, but you said no pentacles were in the spread.

the way i read the magician paired with the hermit (r) & the fool (r) is that he's had all this power to wield & has done so successfully without being challenged, so he wasn't as careful as he had been in the past to cover up his tracks. Arrogance, laziness, thinking he had beaten the poodle press into submission so didn't keep as close a watch on this as he should have....hopefully, this screw-up on his part will lead to a more serious investigation into the stealing of Ohio where i think he was even less vigilant. :)

King of Swords (r) = shrubbie?
King of Cups (r) = Cheney?

Swords to me indicate conflict, wands indicate motion, turmoil. Cups, ordinarily, to me are healing, but most of them in your spread are (r). The 2 of Cups, though, could signal that there are those in both parties (in Congress & the general population) who want to come together to put an end of the corruption in this Administration.

4. Card 13
Edited on Sun Jul-10-05 10:24 AM by okasha
sounds like the Queen of Swords.

The whole reading, considered holistically, seems to me to speak of loss of control, beginning with the reversed Emperor (loss of power) and the reversed (runaway?) chariot. The Fool--Bush about to go mindlessly over the cliff, followed/warned by Tony Blair, his "little dog."

The Hermit reversed suggest self-absorbtion, also jail. So does the Four of Swords, if you take the reading as having an element of irony. King of Swords sounds like it might be Cheney. King of Staves--hmm. The prosecutor? Bush's replacement if an impeachment goes down? Who'd be likely to become Speaker in a Democratic House in 2006?

Just had a wild flash--noble, married, country gentleman --Jimmy Carter?

5. Similar thoughts here
King of Swords (r) = shrubbie?
King of Cups (r) = Bush Sr was what I got

As for 2 of Cups, I read that in conjunction with the other cards, or as a "flavoring" or descriptive to the other cards and came up with Rove's affection/loyalty to Bush. OR, if Rove is gay, possibly to a gay lover of his, a Gannon-type figure, perhaps. But Bush is rumored to be gay, so it could be a paramour there. Or Rove may have something of a crush on Bush. AND, it could be all of these. The influences or situations described by the Tarot do NOT have to refer to a single manifestation.

17. I think you're right
I think you're right about the two parties. I think in reality they're also tired of this but a lot of them are afraid because of Karl Rove. I think if Bush does lose Karl Rove we can see a lot of the moderate and real republicans leave Bush. Of course he'll always have his followers and people who have to be on his side (like Frist for example) but I think majority will turn. We've seen a little bit of that in the last few months. I've always had a sense since earlier this year that whenever I sat down and tried to see about Bush in 2006 that I get nothing past the summer. I don't know if it's me or what. I hope that the Ohio case also comes out and it's shown that John Kerry really won and that Bush will be impeached and off to the Hague with his whole administration.

6. Not surprisingly, lots of yang in this spread
Also anger, violence and deceit.

The numerous majors and reversals don't bode well for Karl, do they?. I think the King of Swords reversed might be Cheney. If his part in this comes into the open (hope hope!) he would probably want to bring a whole bunch of others down with him.

I'm stumped by King of Wands too. I like the idea it might be Jimmy Carter but I don't see how he fits into this situation. He is fire of fire, and honest, so it would seem he would be on our side. I understand there is a judge that has been very helpful to Fitzgerald and wants to see justice done. Perhaps he is still behind the scenes.

11. How about Clark?
Although Kerry is by practice an investigator.

But Clark seems pretty noble to me. And so does Conyers.

10. Isn't he one of the members of the
Election Reform Commission along with James Baker?

OMG, could this whole thing lead to the theft of Ohio?????

19. I've always
had this very strong and secure feeling that if one of them goes down they all will. Just from watching them as well and how they are. Also, if one thing comes down the whole deck of cards will. In reality everything they do leads back to the same people and it's all connected. I remember another DU poster said in a thread they started how they keep getting that message once. That it's all connected.

8. Queen of Swords -
my thought - Judith Miller. Fitzgerald (King of Wands?) isn't done with her yet. Could page of wands be another journalist? Jeff Gannon?

9. Jeff Gannon was my first thought for the Page, too.
More revelations to come on that front, and possbily some major scandal that's only tangential to the Plame outing but also involves Rove. King of Staves--could be Kerry in an "honest broker" role, but I think he'd be considered too partisan for that by virtue of having run against Bush. Maybe the equivalent of Barry Goldwater and the others who had to tell Nixon it was time to give it up? One or more ex-Presidents? I do have the clear sense from this spread that the damage will go far beyond Rover himself.

16. Sounds encouraging
The cards seem to have more bad instore for him then good and usually one outweights the other. Fitzegerald seems to not be letting up. I hope everything crumbls down. It would be nice. *sigh*

Two of Cups may indicate a lover (Guckert/Gannon?). This relationship will become an obstacle, possibly through adverse publicity?
