Dr. Jim Tucker discusses continuing Ian Stevenson's work on reported cases of reincarnation.
An interesting interview of a psychiatrist who is continuing Ian Stevenson's work looking at cases of recall of past lives, primarily by children around the age of 2 or 3, and what this might mean for our concept of the universe.

1. Very interesting interview. The physical trauma from past lives...
part was especially thought-provoking.

I had a little trouble getting the video to start, so for anyone else who has problems, it ultimately did start and run for me, even though it occasionally stopped momentarily and then continued.

Thank you for posting this, Stevepol.

2. One of my grandsons is named Victor
When he was very little he used to do the most amazing martial arts moves. Also when he was three or so we took a car trip with him.

We were near our destination when he began pointing to a mountain and telling us that his wife was there being held captive by a bad king. He was adamant that he HAD to go rescue her.

On the way home he pointed to the same mountain and told his story again.

I am quite sure he was a great warrior in some past lifetime. The name Victor seemed to follow him into this life and he has a fascination for weapons, even though he is the kindest child ever.

4. This is way cool
My son, when he was maybe 3 years old, used to tell these detailed stories of his other siblings (he's my only child). Very specific details, names, what they like to wear, etc., and that his grandfather was a scientist in Paris.

I just thought at the time he was making it up, imaginary family for a lonely only child, too much television, but maybe in his past life his grandfather was a scientist in Paris. Hmmm.

5. I really wish that I had things like that happen to me when I was young.

I didn't have an "imaginary" friend.
I didn't see fairies, etc.
I didn't have any past memories.

I feel as though I was an adult my whole life. I feel as though I missed the magic that's usually associated with childhood. :(

That's lovely about your son. Do you know if he still remembers anything about this, Callie? If not, do you remember when he stopped mentioning it? Did he ever take French classes? I wonder if it would be easier for him than for others.

:)

6. Do you have a prominent Saturn or Capricorn?
I'm sorry you missed the magic as a child, but we Saturnian types often make up for it as adults. Old when we're young and young when we're old as it were.

I did have an imaginary "playmate" (a dance teacher) but was otherwise unimpressed with the other fluffy and fantastical things of childhood. I just knew the adults were having it over us and didn't like it a bit. :)

Then as I grew up, anything and everything otherworldly became a fascination. But I too felt a little bit different as a child in the way you describe; as if I was watching others be children but knowing I just wasn't like them. Or something.

7. Yes, Saturn is very prominent in my chart.
Capricorn is my Sun-sign, and I have Saturn, Jupiter and Mercury also in Capricorn. (So I have a Capricorn stellium of 4 planets, one of which is Saturn.) I also have several planets in the 10th house, which is very Saturnian also.

I felt like an adult my entire life. Yes, what you describe is exactly how I have always felt.

It makes me laugh about your imaginary dance teacher playmate. If I had had one, I'm sure that he/she would have been a teacher as well. (Just a regular teacher though.) :)

8. Wow, that is very Saturnian!
Yes, it is a bit fitting that my "playmate" was a teacher, huh? LOL

I'm a Cap Sun and Mercury, with that Cap Sun opposing my Cancer Asc. which I think makes me come off less Cancer rising as I otherwise would. But you definitely have a stronger Saturnian influence than I do. I actually am more Neptunian/Plutonian in my influences over all.

9. We're very similar, FDB.
I also have strong Pluto & Neptune influences in my chart.

13. Did you ever encounter anybody in your later life who reminded you of the dance teacher?
I've read a few cases where people who had the imaginary playmates found out later (through dreams or intuition) that these spirits or souls had later incarnated and they had crossed paths later on.

Maybe you ran into somebody or had a relationship of some kind with somebody who sort of reminded you of the feeling you had when you had that playmate.

Just a thought.

11. I'm very interested in this work and appreciate your posting this.
I'm also really intrigued by this website:
http://www.johnadams.net/
Called Return of the Revolutionaries, it has a lot of fascinating cases of people from the time of the American Revolution coming back. I learned a lot about the theory about how the personality and physical appearance manifests in repeated lifetimes. Extremely fascinating stuff!
