Although I have had "knowings" since I was a child, I feel I am still in the infant stage of my psychic development.

Maybe it's part of the shift, but I seem to be stuck or loosing ground in this area. So, I'm asking all of you to help direct me in progressing my talents in this area. Any ideas you have that helped you progress, or that you feel will be of help in my development are requested. I'm referring to techniques, rituals, or even books & gurus.

1. I wish I could help

but I feel like I've lost huge ground, too. I'm hoping its the shift, but I seem to go through lengthy "blank" periods where I just don't seem to pick up on anything and can't seem to manifest anything. :grouphug:

3. Most on this journey go through what is often referred to as

"fits and starts."

The energies are a bit unusual right now. Though it is classically, a layers of an onion situation.

The old expression of "two steps forward and one step back" comes to mind.

Maybe consider being gentle with your process and just trust yourself for now.

4. Though I'm not particularly psychic

Using muscle testing and pendulum I am able to discern blockages in the body. I would say if you are interested in that, learn to use a pendulum, and take a "Touch for Health" class if you want to learn muscle testing (and something about acupuncture meridians as well).

Pendulums you can use for anything, but I seem to be consistently accurate only about medically related things (same with muscle testing).

6. Psychic skill development

PC sees psychic abilities like any other human skill set. It requires some basic talent and then training and practice to bring it to fruition.

It is suggested you do some reading in the area; there are many fine books on the topic of psychic ability development. You can also attend training seminars or engage a private tutor. Then practice the skills and ask for feedback like you are doing.

You can also start keeping a psychic log. Write down received psychic material, then date it. Keep track of hits and misses.

Do not take misses personally, it is just part of the process, and they way psychic abilities work at times. It is helpful to work in a team, like PC does.

In terms of rituals, PC cannot give you any since they tend to not use them. But PC members do work to clean, calm, heal, enhance their energy by simple methods. Connecting with nature, solitude, prayer, meditation, water, etc.

Also pay attention to certain times and activities. PC finds rich material during water time (showers can be like a psychic phone booth); the time when just waking up or falling asleep. During over learned activities such as gardening, driving (be careful with this one.)

The other thing that PC would say is that perhaps people are trying too hard, the material is there, but it is subtle. Just relax and pay attention to it. At the same time learn, read, and practice. Work with others.

Also it is important to say that while PC sees psychic ability as one of the many abilities humans posses, it is a part of spirituality and being connected to the Divine. PC teams members are practical mystics who see the unity in all. And tap into the collective whole.

So we see psychic ability from the human perspective, but the spiritual one as well. The two are intertwined. And one cannot really develop psychically without the spiritual piece. The psychic is only an offshoot of the spiritual. Edgar Cayce said it best: the way to develop psychic skills is through prayer, meditation, service.

Any time I come into contact with water through bathing or swimming -- or simply am near large bodies of water -- I picture it as a conduit of healing and energy. So my "flashes" often come through while in the shower as well.

And driving. I supposed it's the focus aspect, but I have had some of most profound insights while driving, when specifically calling forth guidance about something.

12. Other ideas from PC team members

1. The biggest hindrances to intuition are fear and resentment. If any of these are harbored, intuition just closes itself off. (A good way to let them go is through Huna Healing -- the forgiveness technique via Reiki.)

2. Alcohol totally jams up frequencies. Try to stay sober if you're looking for answers.

3. Tension will block the channels too. Yoga and massage help tremendously with that. As does regular aerobic exercise.

4. If you're too close to a situation, you're probably not going to get any usable psychic information on it.

14. Feelings about psychic abilites.....

Many people seem to feel anxious, frustrated, afraid, overwhelmed, etc
regarding psychic work......which then interferes with the process....

11. Are you expecting information in a specific form?

It took me a long time to realize (for me, anyway) information often comes in a visual form rather than in an auditory or emotional form. I will "see" things in a sort of flash rather than hearing or just suddenly "knowing" something.

I do get information other ways, sometimes but mostly I "see" it or I see the result/outcome. I had to learn how to kind of "un-focus" my vision and let it happen. For me, it isn't 100%--I don't think it ever is for anyone--but I am kinda surprised sometimes by how vivid the images can be. I can only describe it as being like watching a slide show on one of those old style automatic projectors--where the image flashes up and then is changed/gone.

I think I wasted a lot of time expecting to be like those readers that just suddenly "know" something--like the information just pops into their head--rather than accepting how my own abilities worked. I really think that recognizing the patterns and self acceptance was a huge part of the process for me.

17. I find when I'm looking for information I don't get any. It's like that kind of concentration

blocks it. It's usually when I'm distracted with a task or as other say connected to water, the shower, watering the garden washing dishes, that insight comes to me, sort of out of nowhere.

18. Meditation and psychic skill development

Of course, the most common way to access psychic material is via relaxation, also called meditation. There is nothing mysterious or complicated about this process. Meditation is simply a way to relax and allow the brain to go into alpha waves or deeper. (We produce beta waves in our active waking state.)

(During the over learned activities mentioned preciously, the brain is probably going into alpha waves, hence the psychic activity.)

(Alpha waves, by the way, are all that is required to access past life material. For lives in between lives material, theta waves are required.)

It is thought that most people make this process too complicated, try too hard, and make it too mysterious, etc. And/or believe that things will come in more dramatic or concrete ways. The other world is subtle and ephemeral, wispy and can be mistaken for imagination…… so look for the subtle and don’t dismiss things as just imagination. Pay attention to it… and keep going with it. It takes time and practice for it to all come together.

There are many fine classes and books on the topic of meditation. It is not difficult or mysterious. Basically quieting the mind, deep breathing, and quiet.

It might be easier when learning or practicing psychic skills to focus on a specific topic. Preferably one that is not laden with personal feelings and anxiety. The ASAH forum provides excellent topics for such work.

Some thoughts to help you as you work on psychic ability.

The physical world in which we live, the objective concrete world that we can see around us, is only a part of a vast system of worlds surrounding us. Many of these worlds are not physical. They are of a different order from this world. And they are not necessarily far away from us. But right here, with us. There is a complex interaction between all worlds. The boundaries are completely permeable, and in fact,there is a complex interaction and constant exchange between these worlds.

Humans can directly access these worlds and be consciously aware of the interaction.

25. Strange you mention connection with beings. I have times where dreams

are insane.. One night I kept having to help sort out people's issues.. like I was some in-between helper.. like a psychologist or something. The people were all so real and connected that I knew that I had been at work all evening.. I was exhausted in the AM. But all day long.. I kept feeling like I knew everyone I saw... Like the connection of the night before lasted into the next day, and the physical knowledge of "knowing" the connections were still there.. Not that I think I was helping anyone in particularly.. but just this feeling that I knew everyone by a humanity connection... Very strange. My husband left the bed and slept with my son.. When I dream like that, I toss and turn and keep him up...

26. Sleep time

There is some thought that sleep time is a complex
time for humans. One piece of it is spiritual and psychic.
And some believe that we work on the other side while we sleep.

27. And I know the diff when I am sleeping and "work sleeping", unfortunately for my

husband, he knows it too. Its the only time I toss and turn and sometimes even talk in my sleep. During those brutal primaries, I kept tapping into the disconcernation.. It was gruelling. Like putting back pieces and trying to make people whole again.. not so at odds and on the attack. Perhaps its why some of the healing between camps worked out so well.. People were helping bring it together on another plane? When I get those kinds of dreams, I come here to ASAH to see what's up in the universe.. and say, duh. The worst part is the lower back pain that comes with it. Is there anything that helps with lower back pain. These little quirks can be two days or up to 7 days long. by the 7th day, its painful to walk and I'm exhausted.

You must be willing to practice, and put aside human ego and tolerate making mistakes as part of the learning process.

Also do not be afraid, it is not mysterious, but something that can be learned by all humans.

Most psychics have specialty areas. Therefore certain areas may come more easily to you. For example, PC team members each tend to do better in certain areas. One member is very good at locating lost items for example. Another member is very talented in keying into anything about Obama.

So, do not be discouraged and look for areas of strength. Also weak areas can be strengthened.
