1. Unbelievable. I was thinking this morning
Edited on Thu Jun-25-09 05:32 PM by Kind of Blue
of my sister and our taking a brother as our own. She was going to marry Michael when she grew up and I would have Germaine. and our room wall filled from one end to the other with posters from Right On and Teen Beat magazines. I dismissed the memory that just popped up out of nowhere.

My sister just called and told me his face loomed before while preparing breakfast for her daughter.

How absolutely sad. I can't imagine childhood without the Jackson 5

Thanks for the link. I'll check it out after work.

2. What a day this has been.
I had a flash on Farrah Fawcett this morning and based on her time of death, it was very close to the same time. I had a strong sense that she had passed on and then heard the news later.

Then had a strange power outage, now thunderstorms this afternoon.

And now the news about Michael Jackson - something seems to be in the air today.

13. Yeah, overwhelmed with news when
I usually can't get enough of it. I'm so taken aback by how it's affecting me. Very strange energies today.

About the flashes, I read in one of the Seth books years ago that there are infinite probabilities, some of them strong or weak based on all of our choices. If I remember correctly, the most highly probable future most of us will be able too detect before the event actually happens.

I guess we should brace ourselves for more on its way. Whew!

27. here's what it might be
July 7. Something is going to happen with the sun. I found out about it from Linda Moulton Howe's appearance on C2C the other night. She said someone has interpreted the recent crop circles in England and that's what they are saying: an event with the sun on July 7.

I think there is going to be another one on Aug. 9. I'm not sure on that second date, though.

7. The teenagers....

I just checked out my daughter's Facebook page, curious what high school kids were saying, if anything, about the two celebrity deaths today. (She's away at camp for three weeks in NY...I'm very nervous having her so far away, especially as things feel so darn weird, and in this first week there is no communication.)

These kids all have hundreds of friends on Facebook, and all their "feeds" are shown. There are literally hundreds of comments about Michael Jackson's death, the vast majority genuinely sad and very upset.

I didn't see any mention of Farrah; I doubt they really knew much about her. But MJ...they are stunned. Music is truly universal. Unlike here at DU, I surprisingly didn't see any snide comments about his death...just wishing his family well and saying what a brilliant musician he is.

It warmed my heart to see that. :)

9. I had 'death' on my mind last night.
You know when it's coming, but you don't know if it's for you or someone that is a part of you. Some of us grew up with Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson. It's hard to explain to the younger ones how insanely famous these people were in our day. I kind of feel like a part of my childhood has died- or that large part invested in pop culture, that is.

10. I'm absolutely stunned with Michael's.
He is just someone who you think will live forever. I had an eerie premontion yesterday afternoon. It was so strange to me. Enough to make me stop and wonder what was that all about? Very unusual for me.

17. Weird, huh?
I had a similar feeling of dread before Princess Diana's death and 9/11. On 9/10, I was sitting in my office looking out the window remembering a dream I had about a huge tornado hitting a building. Then I was at an airport and no planes were flying. Anyway, last night I lay awake thinking about death, and how it could just end tomorrow. I was also thinking about heart attacks, but not MJ's. Mine. I'm due to move some heavy furniture and sadly I've let myself go to shit in the past two years. Anyway, the feeling of death was so strong that it was weird to hear of Farrah's death, but absolutely shocking to hear of Michael Jackson's death. Never in a million years would I have thought he'd have died so soon, or how much it would affect me. It hurts, and I was not a fan in recent years, but he was a big part of my childhood.

Anyway, I believe many people get these strong premonitions because we know somehow. Amazing things are happening lately and all I can do is watch and wait to see how it all unfolds. I think MJ had a huge affect on the people of this world, even though some would say that is ridiculous. It's another shockwave rippling through our consciousness.

26. Really, you had the impression that he would live forever?
I actually thought he would have died about 10 years ago. I never had that impression.. even as a child when he'd come on or be mentioned.. This would have been his hey-day (the 80's)... I just always had this thought that he was very disturbed and that he would die young. I never expected him to make it to 50.

29. I thought he was saying goodbye when he made his Tour Announcement. Like he was going to kill
his self. He seemed crushed, depleted, fractured, gone gone gone......already. Just somehow had lost his footing on the planet.

18. Change
That was his song, wasn't it? Chris sang it on American Idol this year as well, did a very nice job.

I'm looking at the man in the mirror
I'm asking him to change his ways
No message could have been any clearer
If you want to make the world a better place
take a look at yourself and make that change.

Great song. Great message.

20. I'm wondering what the descriptions of the dot colors mean.
Red is: Significantly large network variance. Suggests broadly shared coherence of thought and emotion. The index is less than 5%

Blue is:
Significantly small network variance. Suggestive of deeply shared, internally motivated group focus. The index is above 95%

If people are all thinking about the same thing, such as a worldwide news event, like MJ's death, then the red is "broadly shared coherence of thought and emotion".

But what does "deeply shared, internally motivated group focus" mean???

Could someone explain??

21. Maybe this will help:
This is from the homepage of the Global Consciousness Project:

The Global Consciousness Project, also called the EGG Project, is an international, multidisciplinary collaboration of scientists, engineers, artists and others. We collect data continuously from a global network of physical random number generators located in 65 host sites around the world. The archive contains more than 10 years of random data in parallel sequences of synchronized 200-bit trials every second.

Our purpose is to examine subtle correlations that may reflect the presence and activity of consciousness in the world. We predict structure in what should be random data, associated with major global events. When millions of us share intentions and emotions the GCP/EGG network shows small but meaningful differences from expectation.

This suggests that large scale group consciousness has effects in the physical world. We need to know about this, and learn to use our full capacities for creative movement toward a conscious future.

http://noosphere.princeton.edu/index.html

As I understand it, the colors represent these variations in randomness of the numbers generated. The red represents, as suggested, a "broadly shared coherence of thought and emotion." So, the dot turning red when the world learns of Michael's death is suggestive of a significant event affecting the global consciousness (the combined minds/consciousness of humanity). They didn't have the dot back then, and used graphs instead to represent these variations, but there was also a significant spike right after the planes hit the towers on 9-11. If you poke around on their site, you can probably find mention of it.

(If you want to see something really cool and beautiful, check out the link to the "Global Brain Painting" in the menu to the right on the homepage I linked.)

+++++
If anyone's interested, Art Bell is hosting C2C tonight. His guest will be Dean Radin, who is associated with this project. I'm betting that they'll discuss it. If Art doesn't bring it up in the interview, then a caller probably will when they go to open lines.

I had trouble with that, too. I think it is the word "group" in the description for Blue that is throwing us off.

My interpretation is that it indicates an internal focus, as it says, meaning that thoughts are turned inward. It is "shared" in the sense that it is a measurement of a "group" and not a single individual, but it still indicates an inward-turning focus of the group itself. Red, on the other hand, indicates that the "group" is focused more outward in some commonly shared experience.

So, at one end of the spectrum, people are turning inward (away from the group, more private) in their thoughts and emotions, and at the other end of the scale, people are turning outward (toward the group, more communal) in their thoughts and emotions.

I hope that makes sense. They could have worded it a bit better, but that's what I got from it. Maybe someone else can explain it better. Or maybe I'm getting the wrong thing from it!
