Pluto in Capricorn and a Forbidden Subject:

Slow-moving Pluto’s passage through Capricorn is the base note for all of the faster planetary cycles. It will be the focal point of the major T-square with Saturn, Uranus and Jupiter in 2010 that is one of the most powerful astrological patterns in many years. Prior to reaching this transitional point it is helpful to increase our understanding of Pluto’s transit through the ambitious and authoritative sign of Capricorn that began in January 2008 and ends in 2024.

Pluto’s presence in a sign intensifies its characteristics, usually in a challenging way. Most recently, we’ve seen Pluto’s transit through sexy Scorpio (1983-95) bring us AIDS and its transit through religious Sagittarius (1995-2008) produce the September 11 attacks on the Twin Towers. Capricorn is a sign of social power, institutions and elite status. We have already seen a financial slide that has brought banks, investment houses and insurance companies to their knees. These are supposed to be the pillars of our free enterprise system, the reliable sources of restraint and responsibility that help hold it all together.

Capricorn is a vertical sign represented by the mountain goat trying to reach the top. It is ambitious and materially oriented, valuing conquest and concrete results more than cooperation and community. In Capricorn’s world “greed is good” and to the winners go the spoils.

1. I respectfully disagree
It is not: "in Capricorn's world "greed is good" and to the winners go the spoils."

Capricorn is pure like all the signs.

Capricorn is paying the bills of all the waste before it.

3. I liked the 'capitalism' referencing, however, I did think
he did over generalize the greed manifestation (POV). However, I do concur about coming to grips with 'capitalism' in America-it is clearly front/center and in our faces.

8. You are exactly right
but it's not because Cap. is a greedy sign in my opinion.
It's because we're facing how we've abused power and Capr is the responsible sign paying the price.
I've written so much about this that I'm tired.
Yes we're in it up to our ears now.
My line now is that "The Dr. isn't done digging out the cancer yet"
How can we know if and when the patient will rebound.

Sites like THIS are the antedote though!

Celebrate ourselves.
Notice how few men here.

It's impossible for me to take the article in the OP seriously.

5. interpretation can differ
one way of looking at Pluto's transit through a sign is the challenge to the value system of that sign. I have been watching as patriarchal people and institutions are being Pluto-ized -- their power grabs being brought into the light.

Also, the reference to the negative traits associated with a sign when discussing Pluto's influence is what we expect; it doesn't reflect on people who are caps. Pluto, god of underworld, brings out the shadow side of all signs.

Just my 2 cents:-)

6. I second that. Also Pluto is a very emotive sign and Cap a bit heady. This should
represent the balance if not the choosing of a path. Perhaps both.
