Do you ever feel you've lost your light...
or that maybe you've done something to scare away your higher self? As weird as this sounds, I have. I recognize I'm a dark person in some ways (I am unable to picture light around myself, which scares me), that I'm odd, and maybe have been blessed with a large dose of the crazy that tends to run in my bloodline on both sides, but part of me loves ladybugs, dragonflies, angels, fairies and animals, so I can't be all that evil-nasty, right? I had to appeal to my higher self last night regarding some stupid situation I'd gotten myself into, and it all worked out beautifully the next day (this morning, as a matter of fact). I was going to send a scathing email which expressed exactly how I felt about the situation I'm in, but I know from experience you just don't send those, so I saved it as a draft and eventually deleted it. Instead, I composed a professional email that still expressed how I felt, and the response I got was immediate and better than I'd hoped for. Though it could have been my restraint in not unleashing my inner heinous bitch, I can't help but somehow feel 'I'm back!'. I connected to my higher self once again after feeling I somehow lost that connection, and another situation was instantaneously resolved. It is a good feeling.

1. When you see both darkness and light
and it worries you take a good look at the chinese yinyang symbol. It should serve as a reminder that nothing is ever truly out of balance.

2. I think we all have conflicted feelings and emotions...
Just when I think I have reached a level of understanding I have to make sure I don't get cocky because as soon as do, the universe is there to make sure I don't get to full of myself with a challenging situation or person.

For me, it seems like I am on a series of circular paths that inch slowly in the right direction but I have to stay on top of myself sometimes to keep from getting negative with people or a situation... no matter how right I know I am, that almost always means I have repeat that scene a few dif ways until I get to move on. And emails - I have learned to NEVER send emails when I am the least bit steamed about anything. Guaranteed to be taken the absolutely wrong way no matter how reasonable I think I am being.

Not sure if this is helpful... but if nothing else works above for you, here's this:

3. Did you read Tolle's A New Earth?
His description of the "pain body" really resonated with me, especially at a time when I was experiencing my own darknesses.

I think our higher self is always with us. But our ability to connect with it is more challenging when we're deep in our darker emotional experiences - whether annoyance, frustration, righteousness, etc. Mindfulness, such as you described in the writing and rewriting of your e-mail, is also what Tolle suggested is the way out of our pain bodies and into our higher selves. I'm glad you found your way into good feelings!

4. I find sometimes that when that happens I need to change the
company I keep or my surroundings if that's where it's coming from. Dark energies can drag you down with them. I recently had to ask an acquaintance to please not come around anymore. I made up an excuse but the truth was that she's really not a nice person and tries to hide it underneath a faux sweetness and the bad vibes coming from her were making me feel very unpleasant and sometimes even angry.

5. It happened to me on an overseas trip
In January I accompanied my sister to China for her to adopt her second child. Everything was so different culturally, and some of the very sad and hopeless things we saw combined with anger and frustration over difficulties the baby had that my sister and her husband were never informed of during the adoption process resulted in my suddenly feeling like I had no connection to the spiritual at all. I even began to fear that nothing spiritual existed or ever would exist. It was a bad spot for me. As fortune would have it, we were taken on a tour of a very ancient Buddhist Monastery and though the spiritual connection did not immediately come back, I was able to hang onto my observation that people worshiping at that beautiful place that day had what I had misplaced. On my return I happened to get together with some women friends to tell them about my trip and my built up anger came through and it helped me work through it. I had been terribly blocked but talking about that helped me get back to normal.

6. Have you seen Lost in Translation?
I just bought it on iTunes and rewatched it (twice!) during the past week or so. The main character (played by Charlotte Johanssen) has a similar crisis-of-faith/who am I what am I doing here at a Buddhist temple in Japan. The scene (as well as a subsequent scene at another temple) is really well done and beautifully shot as well.

Sigh. I love that movie. :loveya:

7. No, haven't seen it
The Buddhist temple pointed my brain back toward the right direction for sure.

8. Check it out--you might like it
But then again, it's a love-it-or-hate-it kind of flick; there's no in between.

9. Have you ever felt that you've lost your light...
Yes, especially as we approach the next shift. Praying like mad, but AFAICT it's entirely up to God whether I move forward or stay in the 3rd-dimensional cesspool. Of myself I am incapable of transcendance.

Good luck to you.
